Whenever we travel, my partner and I always book a cooking class. We’ve been to many but this was easily the best one. Emi, the host, is so kind, open, and a great teacher. We learned so much not only about the cooking, but Japan and the culture. She gave us many recommendations for our trip. The food was delicious and the setting was cozy and intimate. I honestly do not think there is a better cooking class to choose than this one. The location may seem far, but it’s extremely easy to get here with public transportation, and being able to see a more quiet and residential side of Tokyo was great to see. This experience was absolutely amazing and we would highly recommend it to anybody!

We had a really good time. The class isn’t too complicated and what we prepared was really good. It is easy to make it again at home since the host explains everything very well. She was really nice and invested into teaching us how to make the meals. We also had a really good time with her and great conversation. Thank you very much

We highly recommend booking a cooking session with Emi if you’d like to learn more about Japanese cuisine!! My daughter (who is training to be a chef) and I enjoyed a lovely evening making a delicious meal and learning so much from Emi…. from specific culinary techniques and recipes to what life is like in Japan. She is so friendly and knowledgeable that we will certainly book another class with her when we visit again. Cooking with Emi and exploring her neighbourhood in Tokyo was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!!

Emi is a fantastic instructor. From the start of the class, she clearly demonstrated what to do, talked through why we needed to take each step (the 'this is what you're looking for' in a recipe, for example why you want the vegetables cut in a particular way), and overall made it an absolutely wonderful experience. All three dishes we made were delicious and unique, so getting to learn the techniques of how to make each one was wonderful. I'm strictly vegetarian and she worked with me to make everything appropriate for my diet (and it was all delicious!). We came away feeling comfortably full and with a wonderful memory. We look forward to making the dishes again now that we know how. If you want a wonderful addition to your trip where you can actually learn about the food (and Emi was wonderful to talk to so you can ask questions about food, cooking, and Japanese culture) then I highly recommend taking this class!
