5.00I had an amazing experience touring Casco Viejo, and our guide Alex truly made it unforgettable. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area, and you could tell he’s genuinely passionate about what he does. On top of that, he was friendly, easy to talk to, and made the whole experience feel relaxed and engaging the entire time. Exploring Casco Viejo with Alex gave us so much more depth and context than we would’ve gotten on our own. Highly recommend booking a tour with him if you get the chance, you won’t regret it.

4.00Lovely area of town to visit. We were dropped in Casio Viejo by a van and had no idea who was meeting us and where. However, once the guide arrived he was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the gorgeous restored buildings and learning about the history of the area. Thanks to Alex.
Engaging Historical Walking Tour—Best Done Early in Your Trip

4.00Great overview of Casco Viejo. Alex is friendly, funny, and makes the history engaging. Having grown up in the area, he clearly knows it well and adds local context and a personal touch you wouldn’t get exploring on your own. The tour covers a lot in 2–3 hours and can feel a bit fast-paced at times, but that also means you see and learn a lot. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water, and be prepared for the heat. It may not be the best fit for elderly visitors or those with mobility issues. Also, bring small cash for church admission fees along the way—I would have preferred a slightly higher ticket price with those included since I generally don’t carry cash. We had already spent a few days in Panama, so some of the history and stops were familiar. This tour would be especially valuable earlier in your trip as a great introduction to the city.

4.00Alex, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he is also local to Casco Viejo, which has a rich history and culture and is unlike the rest of Panama/ the city. Apart from a walk around, we were also able to enter and learn more about the museum and two churches. My only recommendation is to book a late afternoon option if available as it gets quite hot in the day, and wear sneakers.

5.00Amazing tour and Alex is wonderful! He’s very knowledgeable about Panamanian history but he’s also very personable and engaging! He brings a little humor to the tour and I loved his authentic sharing of his experience growing up in Panamá and how it fits into the Panamanian experience. Definitely recommend his tour!
