Yulong (Jade Dragon) Mountain
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the holy mountain of the Naxi people. Use the cable car and find yourself in a real paradise as you overlook stunning and variant natural beauty, including spruces, meadows, pines, and clouds. It looks like a gigantic dragon clad in white snow all year round.
Baisha Ancient Town
Visit the Baisha Murals in Baisha Village, which were painted hundreds of years ago and took about 300 years to complete. Learn more about the mysterious Naxi culture by visiting a shaman's house in the village.

5.00Peter must have been exhausted after guiding us as we packed so much into our three days with him, but he never seemed to tire and was always one step ahead anticipating our needs. Our overnight hike at Tiger Leaping Gorge was a major goal of our trip and we were able to totally focus on this beautiful hike because his preparations and advice were flawless. He also went out of his way to teach us about the local culture and Buddhist practices that are a unique part of the history of this region. His personal connection to the land and family made a strong impression on us. We loved staying in the car-free Ancient town. As with the rest of our three week trip, China Highlights got all of it right, especially in finding Peter for us.

5.00I recently returned from my second multi cities tour of China. This time I had a two day stop in Lijiang which proves to be the highlight of this trip. I find the city to be very clean and a good place to relax and wind down. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a must to visit. On your way in, enjoy the scenery at the foot of the mountains. It is amazing. The wait for the shuttle bus and cable car ride to the top took us 2 hours, but I was told this is a low season crowd :). Anyway, the view up there is exhilarating, albeit rather cold. TIP 1: Pack several layers of clothing so you don't have to rent the bulky red jackets. TIP 2: Oxygen cans are not really necessary if you are used to high altitude. Ancient Lijiang town is another must see. There are lots to see and shop. I wish I had planned a longer stay. Our guide, Daniel, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We were also lucky to have Ms Li ShouXiong as our driver. She expertly navigated the narrow roads to Shangri-la. Tour itinerary coordinated by Alisa Liu (China Highlights).
