A few days after Christmas 2025, we went on a full day private tour with Ricardo León as our personal guide. We were two people on this private tour and completely customized it to our liking. We were picked up promptly at our hotel in Merida at the time we had agreed (7:00 a.m.). Ricardo suggested we go straight to Chichen Itza to avoid the crowds, as it was Christmas season and there would be many people. When we arrived, there were already many people, but Ricardo already had our tickets at hand and we were able to enter immediately. Ricardo carried photographs and other documents that matched what we were seeing at the site, and shared everything with us as we went along. He showed great knowledge about the history of Chichen Itza and the pace of the visit was perfect. Our next stop was the Mayan Forest Cenote, which was amazing! Once again, Ricardo gave us an excellent suggestion: enjoy the cenote first and then lunch there, as there were not many people yet, but it would soon fill up. And he was right. By the time we finished our refreshing bath, many people had arrived heading straight to the cenote. Lunch was delicious! After Selva Maya, we finish our tour with visits to Valladolid and then Izamal, the yellow city. Throughout, Ricardo was friendly and focused on our excursion, making sure everything went perfectly and answering all our questions. We highly recommend Ricardo as a tour guide for any tour in the Merida region. Thank you very much, Ricardo!
