History lovers will find Livingstone alive. Many buildings from the first decade of the century are still in use. It was one of the first white settlements in Northern Rhodesia (Zambia) and for quite a while it was the only urban center in the territory and the gateway to the north. The town has preserved much of its colonial character, but is a typical African town with a busy charm.
Livingstone receives guests from all over the world, who want to enjoy the world wonder, as well as the many exciting activities that both side of the Fall have to offer. There is absolutely no end to amazements on the offing for to many pens in words.
Rich in scenery and heritage, Livingstone today has become the tourist heart of Zambia. We welcome you to the city of heritage and culture.

Livingstone Museum
This popular museum contains Zambia’s oldest collection of fascinating samples from the area’s prehistory, as well as photographs, musical instruments and memorabilia belonging to Davide Livingstone, the first white man to view Victoria Falls.
Mukuni Village
One of our most popular Livingstone tours is a trip to a traditional village. The local Livingstone Chief, Chief Makuni, encourages visitors to his village which is home to some 7,000 Leya people, to gain valuable knowledge of how an African village is run and the day-to- day routines of the people who live there. A headman will escort you around the village to show how traditional huts are made and decorated, to explain village politics and to answer any questions that a client may have.

We are back from the Livingstone town tour and we are still thinking about it! The Livingstone Museum was top notch, so well-made and informative, we learned so much about the history and culture of the area. And Mukuti African Village was truly eye-opening; the presentation by a member of their tribe was truly amazing and really brought the culture to life. Our driver/guide Gift from Wilch Travel was super friendly and knowledgeable, he made the whole experience seamless and very enjoyable. We'd highly recommend this tour company and Gift the guide to anyone visiting Livingstone!

This company is extremely professional and I would highly recommend any business with them. Thank you Daliso for your time and for enlightening us!

Interesting place , used to be the capital of Northen Rhodesia, (Today Zambia) it has the oldest museum in country, the railway museum, the jewish museum, some interesting art deco architecture. If you are into history do not miss it. But if you are not into history could be boring.
