Experience walking a LLAMA on a sunset trek at 3500 ft above sea level along the slopes of Haleakala. The scenery is absolutely breath-taking, the air is crisp and cool, and from this vantage point you can see coast to coast, the West Maui Mountains across the valley, and the surrounding islands. The walk is relatively flat, traversing rolling hills via a gravel road that becomes a grass path. Each guest walks their own llama while enjoying a way off-the-beaten path experience that will leave you with a deep appreciation and respect for Maui and these beautiful animals. What To Expect
First you will meet and greet your llamas and be given instructions on how to interact with them. Each guest can choose the llama they would like to walk or switch llamas throughout the hike. We begin on a gravel road through rolling hills that then becomes a grass track. We head to a specific vantage point where we stop and rest while enjoying the view, and then we head back to the trailhead. Guests are free to stop and take photos with their llamas any time along the way.

5.00We had an amazing time on the llama sunset hike!! The “hike” portion was easy, and the llamas were adorable and well-trained! Christine was very friendly and communicative, and obviously great with the llamas. We got so many amazing memories (and not to mention Instagram photos!!) out of the experience!! If you love animals and are looking for a great, 1-2hr experience in Maui, this is it!

5.00What an AMAZING experience! Christine was a great host, her communication was spot on and the hike was fantastic. The views were absolutely breathtaking! Now for the llamas we had the privilege of hiking with Killian, Sion and Azrael. They each had their own unique personalities that made it so easy to fall in love! Our expectations were exceeded ten fold and the property was fantastic! Next time we visit Maui we will definitely come back to do the Llama sunset hike!

5.00We had a great experience with Christine and the Llamas Azriel, Kilion, and Sion. We learned about the Llamas before the hike. They make cute noises and easy to walk. The Llamas were gentle and we loved petting them. The hike was beautiful.

Beautiful country and a lot of interaction with these incredible animals. Had no expectations and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Love the outdoors, animals and adventure and we got it all in this adventure!!

5.00What a wonderful experience all around. First of all it was a pleasure meeting Christine and Sam, the owners of the Llamas. They are both such kind, genuine and knowledgeable people. They made us feel comfortable and safe right away. Next we were introduced to each beautiful, gentle and well trained llama. We learned a little about each of their personalities and some of their traits as a group. Hiking with the llamas was easygoing and very peaceful. The views from trail were amazing! If you love animals you will love this experience!

5.00WOW— this was one of the coolest experiences I’ve had for a hike. If you’re looking for a hike that embodies calm, serenity, and a very unique experience, do sign up for this one! This rather “private” hike allows you to walk your own llama through some of Mauis gorgeous green lands. I was lucky enough to rent one of Christine’s Airbnbs that is located on her alpaca farm. I thought waking up with Alpacas outside my window was cool enough until I heard about her hikes with the llamas! She gave me a little behind the scenes of loading up the llamas and allowing me to groom them before we left. In all, do yourself a favor and book one of these hikes to learn about the llamas Christine has and invite yourself to get close and cuddly with these llamas!!! Thanks Christine!

5.00An incredible experience with these lovely llamas! We had so much fun learning about the llamas and taking them for a walk along gentle, rolling terrain. The views were spectacular! Christine was so engaging and really put us at ease with the llamas (they don’t spit!). It’s obvious that these sweet creatures are loved and well taken care of. Would definitely do this again when we come back and would recommend to family and friends in a heartbeat!
