If you want a taste of authentic local culture, then jump into this day tour. Meet with your local companion to offer you a unique experience across the city, while passionately sharing our culinary treasures. Make sure to come with an empty stomach and get ready for a delicious adventure.
Our first stop will be at a small local place that only locals know how to find. Here we will have the chance to try Byrek, a classic Albanian specialty with spinach, or other ingredients. The journey then leads towards Çam bazaar.
With your local companion by your side, you will have an insight into the hidden alleyways and bustling street markets of Tirana.
The next stop of our local adventure takes us to the New Bazaar, where an array of culinary delights awaits us. We will sit down for a traditional Albanian meal prepared with regional specialties.
To wash it all down, we will also taste the famous Albanian Grape Raki. As we Albanians say, there is nothing that Raki can’t fix!

Florian was a very fun and energetic guide who was more than happy to answer all of our many questions. The food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.

A great introduction to the food, history and culture of the city of Tirana. Markel is a well informed and engaging guide with impeccable English! We were a small group and were taken to areas of the guide books don’t tell you about and got to be ‘Albanian’ for a few hours. We ate Borek- hot from the bakery, we tried local grown seasonal fruits, nuts , honey and cheese, fresh cookies and had tried some local dishes in a restaurant. Finally we went to a quirky bar and sampled Raki! A wonderful afternoon. Thank you to Markel for making it so enjoyable!

The tour was conducted by Markel in a smooth and professional manner. We visited interesting places including tastings and a traditional meal that were very good. Markel gave us a good experience and introduction to Albania.

I enjoyed this food tour. Add pleasant weather and it's as perfect as it gets. Hera was knowledgeable, relaxed and not in a rush to get the job done--unlike most tour guides I have experienced in the past. I recommend doing this while visiting Tirana.

Was excited about this food tour after reading the positive reviews. However, this was not what we were expecting. We walked around for three hours at an extremely slow pace. Some of the food stops were non-exciting such as fruit (orange and apricot) walnuts, piece of cheese and (for dessert) a plain biscuit - i.e food that is readily available worldwide. When we did stop for some more traditional Albanian food, it was at a single restaurant which was nice but felt like it was too forced and scripted. Additionally, we all felt like we could have easily eaten much more and we all ate a huge dinner two hours later. There is so, so much amazing food in Albania that we have tried on our travels and it was very disappointing to not try them on the tour. Definitely recommend instead to use ChatGPT to find better places for a fraction of this price.

Really lovely experience! It was booked for us so unsure of cost but it was worth it. A few hours walking around with a lovely guide and she gave us some lovely local foods to try. I loved the byrek and the lunch we had was great. Asked about any allergies or foods we don't eat too. Our guide Here was friendly and chatty and made us feel welcome in her city. We had only one other couple on our tour and it was a great size group. Definitely recommend!
