A boat ride on Loch Ness was a MUST do for us! I booked the longest boat ride offered. The excitement with anticipation was high. The public bus ride to the dock was funny and entertaining. Once we actually boarded the boat things started to go stale. The "expert guide" was not engaging or interesting. He did not build on the mystery of the lake as was expected. Most of the 2 hours was a boat ride. Simply that. We did get to see the Urquhart Castle from the water but the view was better from land. I would recommend doing a much shorter boat ride and use your extra precious vacation time actually visiting another attraction or town. Or try the tour that includes a stop somewhere. The glimpses were too brief and the highlights were too far away. I am so glad I got to be out on the actual Loch Ness! That was a dream come true. And Jacobite Cruises should consider hiring the city bus driver as their guide!

10/10! I loved the cruise, it was so exciting to see the loch opening before us in such a calming and amazing way. The tour guide had really interesting facts and was always talking to us when we could pause for a while he was so cool to talk to!

Lovely cruise from Caledonian canal to Urquhart castle and return with tour guide vocabulary from Malcolm, who was full of information ( and corny jokes). Hot drinks and simple snacks available on board, 3 toilets inc.disable toilet. Big shout out to Malcolm who sat down and had a nice chat with my wife and myself during commentary..

An excellent cruise to view Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal. The vessel is spacious and comfortable with plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Facilities onboard were good with a bar serving hot and cold drinks and snacks. Staff onboard were very helpful and friendly, displaying considerable knowledge of the Loch and surrounding area. A worthwhile activity but do book ahead.

To make sure they have the right clothing as it can get quite cold outside on the boat. The commentary was entertaining and scenery spectacular.

Great boat trip. Went on the 12:30 2 hour cruise. Far enough up the lock but not all the way. Good staff. Dress up warm if planning to sit up on deck. Outward was fine but return was wind facing. Not too busy this time of year
