Liam is an incredibly friendly & personable tour guide with seemingly endless knowledge of the local area and whisky! We had a fantastic time on the tour and would certainly use the service again if we come back to the area.

This is a very professional, client-focused business. Advance communication was very helpful. Our driver/tour guide, Liam, was delightful, knowledgeable and entertaining. He didn’t rush us, but we still got to see everything we wanted to see. Loved the comfortable BMW! I will definitely book them again and will tell my friends to book them.

  • Exceeded our expectations!

I cannot say enough good things about our tour with our amazing guide, Liam! Our family had a wonderful day touring Inverness and the surrounding area. Liam was prompt, so very kind, knowledgable and engaging. We were traveling with our 2 boys, 9 & 13, and they have not stopped talking about how much fun they had and how much they loved our guide. We saw all the things scheduled on the tour and still found time to feed some Highland Cows which was at the top of my kids' wish list. It was a perfect day!

This tour went beyond our expectations. I did not realize when I booked it, that I was saving the Best for Last. Gavin was an awesome guide. Very personable, he made sure that the day was truly tailored to our wishes and needs. The Whiskey tasting was unique in so many ways.. and he picked the Perfect Place for Lunch. I highly recommend that you take this tour and create your own unique experience.

  • Our highlander guide Jim was a highlight

My sister Jenni and I booked a private tour of the Highlands so we could see as much as possible in one day. (This was a side trip on a longer London stay.) Our guide Jim arrived at Kingsmill Hotel in Inverness sharply at nine in the morning. He was nattily dressed in a kilt and traditional broad-shouldered black jacket. With charm and enthusiasm, he ushered us into a posh Audi to see Loch Ness and the ruins of Urquhart Castle straightaway. Inverness was romantically atmospheric with rolling fog and scattered sunshine. We enjoyed a tour and Scotch tasting at Glen Ord distillery and savored clotted cream shortbread on our way to see the Culloden battlefield and the mysterious Clava Cairn stones. Here, Jim gamely played "Jamie Fraser" to my sister's "Claire Randall" for the requisite Outlander photo. It was mid October and we had many of the sites to ourselves. The fall colors were gorgeous as we drove through the countryside to see the famous railway viaduct from the Harry Potter movies. We checked off every item on our Must-See list and loved the whole experience. We highly recommend Whisky Tours for customized day trips with friendly, bonafide Highland guides.
