Lower Antelope Canyon is one the most exquisitely photographed attractions in the Page Lake Powell area. Many visitors prefer the Lower Antelope Canyon to the Upper because it is less crowded, has light throughout, is longer, and offers great variety. Visitors get the experience narrow slots an ladder access into some of the sandstone craved shoots an holes formed by the force of runoff into the Antelope Wash from the mesas above.

Lower Antelope Canyon
Tour Departure Point: Lower Antelope Canyon Indn Route 222 Page, AZ, 86040 Antelope Canyon Tours departs every 1/2 hour a quarter after and a quarter till the hour, the tour is a 1.5 hours waling tour and climbing down some ladders is involved. Please wear comfortable shoes for this 600 meter trip. Lower Antelope Canyon Tours has smaller group sizes and the guide stays with you during the entire tour, sharing information about the geology, history, and Navajo Traditional ways. The Lower Antelope Canyon tends to be less crowded than the Upper Antelope Canyon and is preferred by many because of its narrow canyon walls and ladders that take you to the levels that have been carved by flash floods from the upper mesas. Amazing trip to Lower Antelope Canyon!!! Guides did a great job keeping the tours spread out so it didn’t seem crowded at all. Our guide provided great insights and even gave us photo tips.

We went to see the canyon at prime time. There were 15 people in a group and there were lot of groups. Even then it was totally worth it. Its difficult to take pictures with so many people.

I initially booked the tickets for 0115pm slot, but was moved to 0145pm later... I went to Dixies counter and checking in.. I was told the 0145pm is full..and .over me to 0215pm .. I waited for one hour.. even for 0215pm they didnt accommodate us.. I had to talk to multiple people..seem slike they sent a accommodated a separate group of different time by mistake... later we were accommodated at 0230pm tour..

Antelope Canyon was stunning, and the guide was very kind. However, it was so crowded that we didn’t have much time to take good photos.

An amazing tour! The highlight of our Utah/Arizona Parks & Cultures tour! We were not totally sure that this was going to be worth it (given all national parks are covered by the America the Beautiful Parks Pass and this is a separate fee around $100/pp) but it was completely worth the cost! The Canyon is an amazing space and our Navajo Guide Armando was interesting and knowledgeable.

Have been wanting to visit this Canyon for most of my life. Finally got there yesterday! We booked a 7:45AM tour hoping to miss some of the crowds. We were the first group out and into the slots - perfect! Our guide was wonderful and the entire experience far exceeded my expectations! The Slots are stunning, humbling and sacred. Do not miss this experience!

This was a great add-on to our trip through Arizona and one we definitely recommend. As others have stated, there are some ladders to navigate, a steep one into the canyon to start the tour and several smaller ones throughout. The tour goes just over an hour and Archie, our tour guide, provided quite a bite of history, reported experiences and unique information to make the walk through fun and interesting. Tours seemed to average about 15 people in a group (at least for our visit) but it flowed nicely and we were able to take pictures while touring (there are some restrictions - your guide will elaborate). The lower canyon is just like the pictures but it's something you need to experience first hand with a tour. We traveled from the Grand Canyon South Rim for this tour and arrived early. Unfortunately, all tours were booked so we had an hour and half to wait. Luckily, Amber at the check in desk helped us with some options to fill the time (Horseshoe Bend, the Wahweap Overlook, Carl Hayden Visitor Center (Dam) and the Dam overlook). We visited three of those locations (saving Horseshoe Bend until afterwards) and were back in time for our tour. There is a little shop there with clothing, hats and other souvenirs in addition to some light snacks and drinks for sale. There is a also a courtesy bottled water dispenser where you can fill up any containers.
