This trip offers a rare opportunity to explore the working waterways of Lake Lothing and Oulton Broad from the water, combining maritime history, industry and hidden local sights. Depending on harbour activity, travellers may see vessels operated by organisations such as CEFAS and Border Force alongside offshore wind support vessels, fishing boats and other commercial craft.
The journey also visits several historic wreck sites and passes important maritime landmarks that are rarely viewed from this perspective.
Unlike our high speed coastal experiences, this is a slower paced sightseeing trip focused on exploration and local history, and can usually operate in a wide range of weather conditions.
Please note that scheduled times are departure times and guests must arrive 30 minutes before departure for check in and boarding.

What To Expect
Depart from the yacht basin, passing the historic Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club and a variety of moored sailing yachts and leisure craft. Travellers will also pass the preserved heritage fishing trawler Mincarlo, a 1960s built vessel and one of the last surviving Lowestoft fishing trawlers, reflecting the town’s rich maritime and fishing heritage.
Travellers will pass beneath the impressive Lowestoft Bascule Bridge, one of the town’s best known landmarks linking the north and south sides of the port. From the water, guests get a unique perspective of the lifting bridge structure as vessels transit through the busy harbour below.

5.00This was a lovely way to spend a sunny Saturday morning. It was really relaxing and our guide was very informative. We visited the Trawler museum right next to the mooring - also well sorry a visit.

5.00We really enjoyed the harbour tour this morning. The crew were amazing - friendly and knowledgeable. Learnt so much about the area and the sun was shining. Highly recommend. We will definitely be booking with them again when we return to Lowestoft.

5.00Stunning, and time & money well spent. You see views of the harbour, including old wrecks, structures and semi-derelict shipyards that have lain there for aeons and are impossible to get close to by any other means. At all times you remain in calm harbour waters so no threat to those of delicate disposition. The running commentary is very informative and second to none. Getting on and off the inflatable is quite easy so 100% mobility is not a problem - but if unsure of your ability then please check with the company. Seriously, it's not to be missed.

5.00What an insight to see the harbour from the water! Very helpful and informative team. Quite a laugh too. Gave us quirky facts and explained what we were seeing. The railway bridge from below and some of the old boats and wrecks were intriguing. It will be great to go back when the Gullwing bridge is completed. Good waterproofs provided if needed. All good!

5.00What an amazing tour of Lake Lothing with an interesting commentary on all the boats we were seeing. The wet gear was a must today and, despite being concerned if I would manage to get on board,it was easy with help from the crew.
