This tour is about showing you my backyard and introducing you to my friends. I have lived on the wine coast since 1976 and count the best wine makers in the Vale as my mates; I want you to meet them so they can share their passion with you.

This is far from just another wine tour. If you love it half as much as I do, you're going to have an awesome day.

What‘s Included

I will guide you the whole day. I will take photos and share them with you at the end of the day.

Lunch is part of the tour but not included in the price. When I contact you, I will provide you with options. You may just wish to bring lunch, or you may want to go somewhere quite fancy; I'm easy.

What To Expect

This tour is about me guiding you to the best wineries, distilleries, breweries and eateries in the Vale. Being a local, my hope is for you to feel like you are my guest and I am showing you my home. I love it here and want to share my passion of the Vale with you. • 9:30 am: I will pick you up at a central location within 1 hour of Moana. • 11 am: You will be guided to 1-2 wineries/breweries in McLaren Vale. I'd love to choose them for you but I am just as happy for you to choose. • 12:30pm: Lunch at place of your choice (or mine...). We will organise in-advance according to group's request. • 1:45pm: Let's do another winery or two. • 4:30 pm: Tour ends. I will drive you back to central location. If you're a large single group, let's chat in-advance so I can plan a day that best suits YOU. I have some awesome places that I'd love to suggest, but am just as happy to follow your itinerary (or maybe a combo of the 2).

One of the best tours ever done. We did a private tour for 6, and it was a fantastic day. Luke's tour suggestions were exactly what we were after. His passion and knowledge of the area and local vineyards and breweries/distilleries was amazing.

We had an absolutely fantastic day with the Gone AWOL winery tour in McLaren Vale, South Australia. The selection of wineries was exceptional, each offering unique flavors and welcoming atmospheres. Luke was incredibly accommodating, tailoring the itinerary to suit our preferences while offering helpful suggestions along the way. Thank you to Luke and his sidekick Nash for an amazing day spent travelling around the McLaren Vale wineries. Luke provided us with great suggestions to visit and appreciate the wines from the region. We loved the "CUBE" De Arenberg, an awesome wood fired pizza lunch and tastings at McCarthy's Orchard then onto to tastings at Curtis Wines and a walk around of the vineyard to finish off. Lastly we visited the Penny Red Brewery for a nice cleansing ale. Our group had an amazing day with Luke touring the region and then to be dropped off back at your accommodation in the city was amazing. Thanks Luke and Nash

Luke was extremely responsive, even when we needed to reschedule! The day was organised well and Luke was a friendly and knowledgeable host, we all had a great time and are still talking about our day! We will absolutely book with Luke again.

Just spent 4 days in McLaren Vale with friends for a good mate’s 50th and some fantastic wine tasting. Luke was awesome: a knowledgeable local guide, a safe and punctual driver and a great bloke. Highly recommended.
