The Karnak Temple

Karnak temple The Karnak Temple dates back from around 2055 BC to around 100 AD. It was built as a cult temple and was dedicated to the gods Amun, Mut, and khonsu. Being the largest building for religious purposes ever to be constructed, the Karnak Temple was known as the “most select of places” by ancient Egyptians. During the New Kingdom, the Karnak Temple Complex was the center of the ancient faith while power was concentrated at Thebes (modern-day Luxor) and its significance is reflected in its enormous size. In addition to its religious significance, it also served as a treasury, administrative center, and palace for the New Kingdom pharaohs. It is to this day considered the largest temple complex ever constructed anywhere in the world.

Luxor Temple

Luxor temple On the East bank of the Nile River, in the south of Egypt, the World’s Largest Outdoor Museum, Luxor city, contains one of the most beautiful temples standing. The Luxor Temple is a mark of Ancient Egyptian civilization, a strikingly graceful monument in the heart of modern Luxor. Different than other temples in Luxor, the Luxor temple was not built in adoration to a god or to a god figure of the kings and pharaohs; instead, Luxor Temple was built in dedication to the rejuvenation of kingship. Many kings might have had their crowning at the Temple of Luxor, whether crowned in reality or conceptually as in the case of Alexander the Great, who claimed he was crowned at Luxor although facts contradict appear that he had never traveled south of Memphis which is considered the modern city of Cairo.

Abdul was our tour guide on this trip. Not only is he knowledgeable, but he is extremely kind. He will go out of his way to make sure that you have a pleasurable experience. Abdul picked us up promptly from our hotel and we visited three sites, visited a few shops and had lunch before being dropped off to the airport. We visited Valley of Kings, Karnak Temple and the Queen’s Temple! I highly recommend Abdul and he will be my go to if I ever return to Luxor!

We had an absolutely great time in Egypt due to Abdul / King Tut Tours and his team. We booked a customised package with Abdul, and he not only took care of our time in Luxor, but also arranged tours for us in Cairo and in Aswan. All our tours were private and the pricing was very reasonable for it. For us it was a really nice feeling to know that everything is well-taken care of and we don’t have to worry about anything and can just enjoy our time. In general, I absolutely recommend booking a guide in Egypt - many sites don’t really have a lot of explanations and signs, so if you really want to understand a site, you do need a guide to explain things to you. In the Luxor area we had the same driver and guide for three days, which was a very pleasant experience because you get used to the person. The guide, Abdul’s cousin Isa, was knowledgeable but above all extremely funny and we had a great time with him. Our driver was also a very warm and loving person. Even the small things like the lunches in between were very well organised, we received so much water through out the day. Our special highlight was the hot air balloon ride over Luxor. Abdul has his own team, and we were slightly anxious to do this but we’re felt super safe during the whole trip. Unfortunately we had to leave Egypt early due to a family emergency, and again Abdul and his team took such great care of us, thought along with us on how we can return to the Netherlands as quickly as possible and gave us so much truly heartfelt support. It really touched us to feel everyone’s compassion. We truly feel like we have a group of friends in Egypt now. I could not recommend Abdul and his team enough.

We spend 1 wonderful day at Luxor temples. Our guide Abdul was really passionate to explain us all the Egyptian history behind those temples and amazing scenery. Its a must on Luxor. Abdul also gave us his phone number and advised us about the rest of our trip out of kindness. One of the most VFM tours you can find! I undoubtedly recommend this tour and especially the great guide and man Abdul!

We were on a trip to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings with our guide Ramzi, who talked about the history, culture and the pharaohs dynasty of ancient Egypt in an interesting way. Thanks to our guide, I got more interested about this era of Egypt. I look forward to visit Egypt soon again and get more excursions from Ramzi.

Have been in Luxor in June this year and must say it was amazing. Would like to express my gratitude to our guide Ramzi who has a huge experience and knowledge of Egyptian culture and history, has perfect English and gives his best support and help during the whole day of excursion. I love Egypt, it was my 5th time there, and for sure next time coming will choose the same ‘teacher’ to guide me through incredible Egyptian world… For sure will recommend Ramzi to my friends as he is a real professional and very nice person. Thanks a lot 😍

After few days of swimming, diving and relaxing on a lovely beach of Hilton, me and my sister decided to visit Luxor to see one of the most interesting historical places in Egypt. We were lucky that we bought well-organised trip with such a great guide who was there basically just for us. Abdul is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and also very polite person. He speaks English perfectly so we have learnt a lot of interesting information about Luxor and its history. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to visit and explore Egypt. Thank you again for a great experience!
