We had a one day stop at Dingle on cruise and booked a tour with Gerard to drive around the Dingle peninsula. It was a fabulous day - we saw some gorgeous sites and learned a lot about the area. He was entirely flexible to what we wanted to do and also offered good recommendations for lunch. We had done a tour before with him in Kerry and it was just as good - we highly recommend - and the car is also very comfortable .

  • Great Tours of Dingle

My wife and I had the pleasure of spending and day with Gerard on a tour of the Dingle Peninsula. I was very fortunate to find Gerard when we were looking for a tour while staying in Killarney. His knowledge of the area is so great. He took us to Inch Beach, which we would have driven past on our our own, then onward to Slea Head and told us all about Brenden the Navigator. He told us about the Blasket Islanders and took us out to the Blasket Island Center for a wonderful look at the people who carved a life on the edge of Ireland. He made a wonderful lunch recommendation in Dingle also! Gerard was great with his knowledge of the area and his play list for the ride. He answered questions and even stopped so we could take pictures of sheep! I plan to recommend him to friends that are visiting Ireland and would use him again on my next trip! Also, he wasn't available to take us to the Ring of Kerry the next day and introduced us to Annie Dowd, who was another amazing guide!

We had two days of touring with Gerard and they were the best two days of our trip! He is an easy going guy sharing Ireland’s history and funny stories, all while expertly driving the beautiful narrow roads. As a photographer himself, he understands what other photographers are looking for besides the popular stops. I will book him every time I visit Ireland and you should too.

Gerard was a wonderful, knowledgeable, and incredibly entertaining guide for our tour of the Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head. So personable and a great story teller! We had a great time and will book with him again when we return.

My family and I spent 3 wonderful days touring with Gerard Scott. We were based out of Killarney and Gerard picked us up each day promptly at 9:30. Day 1 we toured the Dingle Peninsula. Day 2 was Killarney National Park and Day 3 was the Wild Atlantic Way to Kinsale. Superb tour! Gerard is knowledgeable, friendly and very enthusiastic about Southwest Ireland's history and natural beauty. Will definitely recommend Gerard to anyone looking to visit Ireland.

I traveled with Gerard in 2018 and it was the Highlight of a 2 Week trip over 4 European countries. It was one of the main reasons I decided to return to Ireland this year and the second time was JUST as great! If I can make it back to Ireland again I'll be back to Killarney again! Everything was so easy and he really made the days flexible to accommodate Family history searches, sightseeing, and moving my base from Limerick to Killarney and finally to Galway. Also provided excellent recommendations for food, music, and activities along the way! I CANNOT Recommend highly enough!

Our guide, Gerard, was one of the best parts of our trip to Ireland. Our tour felt very personalized, from Gerard introducing our daughter, Grace, to a story/song about Grace Pluckett to sharing facts and lore of the Dingle peninsula and the Blasket islands and making sure we had fantastic photo opportunities. We had a fantastic day and cannot recommend Gerard and this tour highly enough.

We absolutely loved our tours with Gerard!! He was recommended to us by a family friend in the states, and we're so glad we took their recommendation. We did a Dingle tour with him from Killarney and enjoyed his company and expertise so much we booked him for another day and we went to Kenmare and Gap of Dunloe. Both of these tours are stunning! Gerard has a wonderful personality and you feel at home with him right away. He takes the stress away and you get to sit back and enjoy the beauty of Ireland while learning from a local. He is easy going and you can customize your tour as you go. He is willing to make any stop you want and takes lots of photos. Highly recommend!!

  • Not the right tour for us

I know most people love Gerard and that is why we booked it. We (family with two 15 year olds) had our own car but thought we would get the most out of the day being driven around and hearing great stories. Gerard was very kind but honestly, we would have been better off doing it on our own. We went to Dingle and the weather was looking iffy. Our first stop after a little beach was the town to shop and walk around. We had no interest in shopping or seeing the town (which we did say-we wanted to see the nature) but Gerard said we needed to get lunch so we were left here for about 1.5 hrs to wander around on our own. By the time Gerard picked us up, it started to rain. He said it wasn't worth going any further and he would take us to Kilarney instead. He took us to a very touristed spot and the traffic to get in took quite a while. He dropped us off and we went on our own but we had much more fun wandering around Ross castle the day before by ourselves. It was definitely not worth the time it took to get there. We then had time for a quick stop at the water fall and that was the entire day. The waterfall was awesome but that was ten minutes from our hotel and we could easily have don't that on our own. It was the most expensive tour we did in Ireland and for us, the least memorable day of the trip. Perhaps if it was nice weather and we were able to see the land in Dingle, it would have been a better experience for us. Gerard was very kind and did tell us some stories.
