The best experience to learn about the old arts of Venice lagoon islands: Murano and Burano.
With a private boat from Venice, directly to the oldest original Murano Glass Factory, where a Master glassblower and his team are working daily, following the tradition of centuries ago. From Murano, crossing the lagoon, we’ll reach Burano island, famous for its lace work and the colourful atmosphere. Walking by picturesque houses, enjoying the typical “bussolai” (famous cookies of the island), feeling like a resident. Last but not least, an insightful guided visit into an historical hand-made lace workshop.

We had a great trip. We were met in the lobby of our hotel and took a short boat trip to a Murano glass bowing factory where we saw them blowing and shaping glass. From there we went to Burano to see the beautiful pastel colored houses and learned of its history. We walked some of the local streets/canals where we were the only people on the streets. We also saw the main area with shops, etc. From there we took a boat back to Venice.

Leo was a wonderful representative for Viator. He is well informed about the region because he has grown up in Venice with several generations of his family! Our trip to Murano and Burano was awesome! He took the time to introduce us to representatives for Venerir Murano which in turn showed us around the glass factory. The demonstrations were very interesting! From there we went to Burano and watch an individual perform stitching a picture of the beautiful colorful buildings in Burano. And Leo topped it off providing us with these wonderful butter cookies made only in the island at Burano. Then we finished the day eating lunch at one of the best restaurants called La Porta d’Acqua looking at the Grand Canal backdrop! Thank you for such a lovely day!! When we return, I will have Leo show us around again!!
