I went on the Ma On Shan Climbing adventure. Even though I've travelled quite a bit, this experience was totally new for me. For one thing, it provided me with a totally different perspective of Hong Kong, as we often think of the country only as a bustling city. I was the only person who signed up for this package on that day, but Rory still paired me up with a very experienced and patient guide Tristan - which indicates the reliability of Wild Hong Kong. The entire experience requires a reasonable level of stamina and fitness, as described in the Wild Hong Kong website. The experience climbing up to the top included different types of terrain, such as steep (almost) vertical climbs and narrow trails through dense bushes. However, the reward of getting to the top makes it all worthwhile. I was fortunate to be there on a day when the overcast was low, so we were engulfed in cloud for most of the time and what an experience it was walking on Cloud Nine, literally! On clearer days, aviation lovers would be thrilled to see planes not too far above them making their approach to the airport. The walk down also provided beautiful scenic views of some country parks. Overall, this is an experience one wouldn't want to miss, especially those who love hiking and the outdoors. Just be sure to bring lots of water and snacks for the hike, and I cannot stress the importance of having a good rest the night before and good shoes.

My time in Hong Kong this time was incomplete without a journey to the mountains up north. I decided to search for some day excursions that would fulfill my thirst and appetite for a steady but challenging hike. The climb to the summit of Ma On Shan in New Territories was strenuous at times but the panoramic view of Hong Kong and the harbor towards the top was breathtaking. I was able to enjoy the ascent as well as my time with Rory. He personalized the hike to tailor to my pace and preferences. If you decide to embark on this adventure, please be prepared to traverse through rocks and boulders with variant gradients. Rory & the Wild HK team will take good care of you. Thank you mate!

My friends & I have done many many hikes with Wild Hong Kong and I can recommend all of them. Ma On Shan is beautiful and you go over the saddle so it's a great challenge and get lots of amazing views as a reward. They are all customized so you can go at your pace. We've also done a waterfalls hike, Suicide Cliff, Tai Po, Lantau. and Sai Kung. Just get out and have some fun - let Wild Hong Kong do all the planning. They make it really easy!

I did a sunrise hike with Rory which was brilliant, he was very down to earth and easy to get along with, it was like hiking with one of my friends at home. He had interesting facts about the area and showed me around an abandoned town at the trail head which was very cool. As a local it was great to get some local knowledge and tips from him 👌🏻 The hike itself was fairly tricky, quite an incline for the distance , but we were rewarded with great views from near the summit. Really enjoyed it
