4.00This was a great visit for a real fan of The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit. That set is very well maintained and extra special that it is a beautiful working garden and meadows. The only slight disappointment was that we joined a very large group for the actual tour. This was not as advertised in the literature and I feel like we would have heard more of the docent’s comments with a true “small” group.

4.00Driver Deane was great, picked us up on time and drove us there in plenty of time. Seats on the van were a bit tight but ok. Had a great visit to Hobbiton and got driven back. Deane gave us a couple of bathroom breaks on the way back which was good because the traffic was really busy but he skillfully maneuvered us through the busy highway back to our hotel.

5.00It was a wonderful tour that brought back all the magic from the lord of the rings. The drive to the set was a bit long but our driver and guide Dean made it awesome with all the little fun facts about New Zealand. He also had tons of stories that made the drive enjoyable despite the traffic.

5.00I had a fantastic day. Deane was brilliant, he was warm and friendly, got us there in plenty of time, had everything under control. He happily answered all my questions and kept things moving without any rushing. Offered snacks and water throughout too. Hobbiton was great, worth a visit for fans of the film!
