This isn’t a studio cooking class — it’s a shared ritual in a real Ankara home. You’ll learn baklava the old-fashioned way, with stories, laughter, and care in every layer.

Step into a welcoming home in Ankara’s Dikmen neighborhood and discover how traditional, homemade Turkish baklava is prepared — not the store-bought kind, but made from scratch the way it’s been passed down in family kitchens for generations. You’ll start with tea and snacks, then dive into each step: preparing the syrup, kneading and rolling dough, making the walnut filling, and layering everything just right before baking. While the baklava bakes, you’ll also prepare a savory börek and a fresh meze like kısır or lentil balls. Finally, we’ll enjoy everything we made together over Turkish coffee and good conversation. Come as a guest, leave as a friend! This is a hands-on experience, and all ingredients are provided. Recipes will be sent to you afterward so you can recreate the magic at home. Please note: 1. The baklava contains walnuts and is not suitable for guests with nut allergies. 2. The class lasts around 4 hours — because making baklava properly takes time, and we don’t rush good things.

It’s a short experience involving Turk citizen life with a young thriving Turk family. You can hardly ever get a chance to taste fresh Baklava made from the scratch with ingredients from a common kitchen at home . Nonetheless, preparing other two traditional Turk food (Kisir & Borek) was also really enjoyable. Turkish hospitality from this young family was beyond any rating .
