When I visit a city I like to have a walk around the city to get the lay of the land and a feel for the city. As we were only in Male for a stopover, we decided to do a guided tour. This was a good choice as we probably would not have found all the landmarks by ourselves in the time we had available. Ali was a friendly and knowledgable guide that was able to give a historical background on the various buildings that we saw. This certainly opened my eyes about the history of the Maldives in a way I had not previously been aware of. It's hard to pick out a favourite spot, but I would say the visit to the local market (and taste tests) was a highligh

Ali is an amazing guide who brings the Maldives to life! He perfectly understands the tourist perspective and explains Maldivian history, culture and everyday life in such an engaging, authentic and local way. After the tour I truly understood why the Maldives is an expensive country and gained real insight into the life of Maldivians. This was an incredible experience and absolutely not to be missed. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to truly understand and experience the Maldives!

I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and, whenever possible, I always take a similar tour. This was by far the best tour I’ve ever experienced, not just because of the places we visited, but because of the warm, courteous, and exceptionally knowledgeable host. I use the word "host" intentionally, because that’s exactly what Ali felt like. Through him, I genuinely experienced what it’s like to live and build a life in the Maldives. Ali is a fantastic host and a fellow traveler who is deeply passionate about his work and truly cares about his guests. This is an experience not to be missed. And while you’re there, I encourage you to contribute to Ali’s community, not financially, but by visiting a remote island, engaging with the locals, and helping them connect with the wider world.

This is a great informative tour and Ali was a fantastic guide. The meeting point was easy to find and Ali took us to interesting places which I could never have known about or found on my own. We saw a historic school, mosque, president's offices and residence, fish market and fruit & veg market among many other interesting places of interest. He spoke good English and is a very friendly young man. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to know the history and every day life in Malè.

I joined the Malé walking tour with Sujad and learned so many things about the Maldives that I didn’t even know before. Seeing familiar places felt completely different once I understood the history and stories behind them, even though I had visited Malé many times. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to truly understand Maldivian culture, history, and daily life. Thank you Suji - best man

Shortly after arriving in the Maldives, we went on a walking tour in Male and learnt a great deal about the history of the place. In a relatively short period of time, we visited all of the highlights, including the local fruit, vegetable and fish market, where we tasted local fruits, nuts and dried fruits. The fishing boats were docked by the market area and we learned how local goods and people travel between the islands and atolls. A highlight were seeing many stingrays who were sharing in the fish from the fishermen right off the dock. Our guide Sujad shared his local and traditional knowledge, and we appreciated the cultural and indigenous practices. Sujad took us on a private tour in the nearby streets in a thoughtful way to maximize our time and the trip. At the end of the tour he showed us where we could go for a fresh juice or coffee nearby with a great view of the water. Highly recommend. Visitor from Canada.
