Great experience! Mauricio and his assistant Dejan pointed out numerous jungle inhabitants and took pictures with our smart phones for us through his telescope. We saw bats sleeping under leaves, lizards that run on water, howler monkeys, milk wasp nest, colourful land crabs, spiders, and a sloth with her baby. Afterwards we were given the opportunity to continue to explore the park and beaches. Mauricio offered different options for restaurants and transportation returning to our accommodation if we wanted to stay. Well worth taking this tour as you would otherwise miss much of what we saw.

After 4 small group tours in rain and having no luck seeing anything worthy to mention, we had the best experience in a nice clear morning. Complemented by a very knowledgeable guide Andres we saw quite a few sloths, iguanas, birds, monkeys and yes, even a deer. Perfect way to end our visit to Costa Rica.

Tour guides are awesome and know where to look for sloths, hummingbird nests, bats, etc.. The monkeys are very mischievous, but entertaining!

You have a really high chance of seeing lots of animals here plus there are beautiful beaches but if you want to maximise your chances of seeing something I would strongly recommend hiring a guide. We did this on the basis Of a couple of previous tours in Costa Rica where we couldn’t see anything until the guide pointed it out. Some of these animals are so well camouflaged. Plus the guide told us all sorts of other interesting information about the wildlife, flora and Costa Rica. It’s $16 to enter the park and not much more for a guide and that will taking you 1.5to two hours walking quite slowly. Plus he had a scope so you could see the animals close up and you old put your phone or camera on the scope to get close ups. Beaches are beautiful. You can’t take food in - just water and fruit and your bags are checked as you go in.
