We had a fabulous time with Trinity in Martinborough. Unfortunately the train was replaced with buses and started the day off late but Trinity adjusted without putting the other guests out and replaced a wine tasting with a bottle of wine for lunch. It was an engaging and entertaining tour of Martinborough learning from a true local. We would absolutely recommend Trinity and the team for any wine tour and adventure in the region!

Trinity was a great guide, lots of history on Marlborough and a great mix of small and large wineries to visit, lots of lovely wine and the platter at poppies was fantastic.

My wife and I booked this tour and we were not disappointed. Our host, Lee, made us feel welcome and he was able to pass on his knowledge of the local area as well as leading us to four different vineyards for tasting.

Trinity, the tour guide, was great. What we didn’t like was the attitude of the ladies at MARGRAIN and ATA RANGI wineries. At Margraine the lady in the cellar door giving tastings said there was no restroom available since the café was closed and the room was extremely cold. At ATA RANGI the tasting lady was simply rude. All other wineries, Escarpment, Paliser Estate, and Poppies (lunch platter was amazing) were great!

Fantastic tour. Pickup/drop back from Featherstone Station by Matthew who was a mine of local information and very entertaining. Then an enjoyable stroll around Martinborough and the village Square. Delightful Trinity collected us and another couple from outside the Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed the visits to the vineyards and the great lunch at Poppies. Trinity is a local and so very knowledgeable about the whole area, the vineyards and the winemaking. We were very impressed with the tour and the great wines and will be looking for the Martinborough wine labels in the future. Very good value for an excellent tour.

I highly recommend Martinborough Wine Tours. My wife and I, age 70, and our 33 year old daughter went on a wine tour with Martinborough Wine Tours in April 2025. We had a wonderful experience on a tour with two other parties, both of whom were doing mother/daughter or parents & daughter tours. So it was great to see the two age groups enjoy each other's company and find out about lots of new wines in this great wine making region. Our guide was Matthew Finn, who was very knowledgeable about the history of the region, the geology that makes it such a great location to grow wine, the wineries we visited and he is a pretty good wine expert himself. Matthew took us to four wineries that included some big name, fancy new tasting rooms and several very small family owned wineries where the wine maker was doing all the talking and pouring for us. It was really a special time that we all thoroughly enjoyed.

Family was visiting Wellington from Canada and were looking to do a wine tour. We had previously undertaken a wine tour with Martinborough Wine Tours a few years back when we arrived in NZ, met some great people, and enjoyed it very much so why not repeat! It was a great decision! Matthew provided great instructions on taking the train from Wellington to Featherson where he met us and provided a clean, modern van for a day of touring wineries and providing expert commentary before bringing us back to the train station for the return trip to Wellington. A great full day with lots of photos taken and a few purchases to take home. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour for anyone looking to experience the wine region while in the Wellington area. We will be back when our next visitors arrive!

Easy to get to from Wellington on kiwi rail . Seamless pick up Featherston station . Cash tickets on train no prebook . Met by Trinity and driven to 5 vineyards with lunch at poppies . Great wines and very friendly involved wine makers ! Each experience was unique and fantastic . The wines are a cut above Waiheke in quality although going to Waiheke was fabulous too . We would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is in that area . Loved spending the day with Trinity our very knowledgeable guide . We want to get these wines in the US if possible !
