  Sophie was amazing she was like a friend i had known my whole life, her english was perfect and she made me feel very comfortable and everything was easy and memorable! I highly recommend her tour!

• The wonders of Nicaragua with Legacy

  I wanted to just say how impressed I have been with Legacy Tours. As a teacher, I have a limited budget and did not want to spend too much on my brief trip to Managua. When I contacted, Edgard and he spoke of white glove service, I thought this would price me oit of the market. However, this could not have been further from the truth. For five days, Edgard, his wife Sophia, and his father Edgard sr. showed us all of the marvels of Nicaracua. Christians and English speakers par excelence, they treated us loke familu, going that extra distance to make sure we felt comfortable. We hiked volcanoes, saw smoking craters, lounged languidly by lagoons, and they took us everwhere we wanted to go, whether it was a food court, to a nail salon, or an artesan market. • An incredible tour with an incredible guide!

  Edgard picked us up right on time. To our surprise, we quickly found out Edgard’s English is impeccable which was very beneficial since our Spanish is not the greatest. Upon picking us up he provided recommendations for the order of the tour so we could get the most out of the day. We began with the Masaya volcano tour during the day. By taking the day trip it allowed us to miss the long lines, visit the museum and take a hike up to Mirador Fumarolas for some panoramic photos of Volcán Masaya park. After that we went to Volcan Santiago where were able to get some great photos snd stare into the smoking volcano . We were able to spend about 10 minutes there and even witnessed a small rockslide. It was truly incredible! Next we drove to Las Isletas de Grenada at Lago Cocibolca and took a boat trip with Capt. Don Louis around the islands. Capt. Don Louis seems to be incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the islands. It was very beneficial to us Edgard was able to translate for us. Capt. Don Louis showed many of the beautiful homes on the islands and took us to some of the islands with monkeys. He even summoned one monkey, Michael, who jumped on the boat for a quick snack before disappearing back to the trees on his own private island. The scenery was amazing, the Capt. was fantastic and the overall experience was amazing! After the boat trip we took a trip around Granada by car. Since we were staying near Plaza Mayor de Granada, we had already been through much of the area so Edgard Was able to show us some of the sites off the beaten path. Due to having seen much of normal walking tour. We opted to take a tour of Don Reyes’ cigar factory. It was really cool to learn about the different types of leaves used in cigar rolling AND get to see Don himself roll cigars. The man is a master! Of course, we could not leave without a box of cigars. Having tried one after leaving, I must say it is the best cigar I have ever had. Sadly, our tour had to come to an end. By the end of the day, I felt like we made a friend in Edgard and learned so much about the area. Before we were done we were already working out when we could come back. I strongly recommend taking a tour with Edgard! He is an incredible guide, very knowledgeable personable and charismatic! We look forward to contacting Edgard or Sophia at Legacy tours the next time we come back. To Edgard, Thank you for everything! You made the last day of our vacation the best day of the entire trip! 5 stars!
