In a private game reserve half an hour outside of Maun, Botswana, you get an authentic bush experience. While Horseback Riding we see zebras, giraffs and other animals... and we can get very close to them.
This is a great activity for a free morning or afternoon in Maun and an unforgettable safari experience that you will not regret adding to your holiday.

What To Expect
Horse riding in the bush with wild animal encounters is an unforgettable safari experience. We pick you up at your accommodation in Maun and transfer you to a private game park approximately 40mins outside of Maun. At the stables you meet your riding guide and you are introduced to the horses. And then the adventure begins. You ride through the bush and depending on weather you might cross water. Along the way you meet plenty of wildlife such as zebras, ostriches, giraffs and different types of antelopes. With the horses we can get pretty close to the animals. After 1hr of riding we start the return transfer to Maun. Longer riding experiences are available on surcharge. Included in our price are all transfers, park entrance, bottled water and the horse riding activity. No riding experience needed for this tour. BEGINNERS ARE WELCOME. Please note that there is a 120kg weight limit for riders.

5.00Very good experience with great horses, excellent guide and lots of animals up close. The reserve has many savannah herbivores (no predators) and ostriches that are not spooked and used to people so we got up very close to them, nit a truly wild experience but it was fun nevertheless. Great for kids and good change of pace from the truck game drives

5.00We LOVED our horse ride with kalahari breeze. I am an experience rider, but my husband has never sat on a horse! We chose the 2 hour ride. The stable and private game reserve are only 45 minutes from Maun. We were collected from our hotel. After a quick hello we were saddled up and off into the bush. As there are no predators in this conservation, we felt perfectly safe. It was wondrous to be on horseback observing antelope, wildebeest, ostrich, giraffe and zebras! The intimacy one feels on horseback cannot be matched. No vehicle- just you and nature. We were able to ride up close to the animals who were unperturbed by the horses- and the horses by them. The horses are lovingly cared for and this operation has 56 horses- their main business is longer multi day horse safaris. But if you only have a day in Maun, like us you can experience the beauty and wonder. Plus, my husband loved it and he felt perfectly safe and secure on his spotted Appaloosa horse.
