Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Geopark
Chamarel is a village in the southwest of Mauritius with a population of 700. It is named after the Frenchman Charles Antoine de Chazal de Chamarel, who lived in the area around 1800. Chamarel is primarily known for its scenic locations and nature attractions in its neighborhood. Among them are the Seven Colored Earth, the Chamarel Falls and the Black River Gorges National Park. The surrounding area is also known for its locally grown coffee and for the famous Rhum distillery .

5.00Very good excursion with our "private" guide RAJ who is very professional, very polite and very competent Chamarel , the giant turtles waterfalls , viewpoint , temple and sacred lake , then lunch together Raj managed to make this excursion a perfect discovery of the south-west of Mauritius , its history , its culture including religious ... despite very rainy weather Another big thank you to him The couple of Saint Malo (Philippe and Marie )

5.00We were picked up at the terminal and were surprised it was only the two of us in a private car with driver/guide - which was perfect. We were taken to some fabulous sights high up the mountain then to the 7 coloured earth exhibit together with seeing their giant tortoises. We had a typical Mauritian lunch at a restaurant which was served in a banana leaf and was delicious. After lunch we went to the site of an extinct volcano and could have gone to wherever we wanted but we decided to head back to the ship mid afternoon. We learnt a great deal about Mauritius and saw some super sights - just what we wanted.

5.00A beautiful day of discovery with a very friendly driver who explained everything. Visit Chamarel, waterfall and land of 7 colors, a detour to the rumery with tasting. Then visit the Black River Gorge and visit the Hindu temple of large basin. Typical Mauritian lunch We ended up with the deer hole in Curepipe and the model boat factory. A busy day full of memories. I highly recommend this excursion with this agency. Entrance to the park and Chamarel rum are additional as well as lunch
