Arriving at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center, you’ll have two hours to explore this stunning natural wonder. Here you can choose to wander trails, photograph the glacier from the distance, or explore the Visitor’s Center. With various walking trails available, visitors of all fitness levels can enjoy spectacular views of the glacier, Mendenhall Lake, and the untouched wilderness. Entry to the Visitor’s Center is included where you can enjoy interactive exhibits and educational presentations.

What To Expect
Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center
OPTIONAL. You will have a total of 2 hours at the Glacier to explore on your own. Entry fees to the Visitor’s Center are included in the price of your ticket where you can enjoy interactive exhibits and educational presentations that offer a deeper understanding of the glacier’s geological significance and the surrounding ecosystem.

5.00We enjoyed the information provided by our great driver, Alicia - she is a great tour guide. She pointed out sites along the way, giving us information you won’t readily find elsewhere. Mendenhall is a magical place. Although there were many yours that day, it was still easy to find a great spot to view the glacier in solitude and wonder. Take time to meander on the pathways up to and around the visitor’s center!

3.00While the trip was nice, it wasn’t without frustration. We booked thru Viator and there was no clear communication on where the meeting point was in Juneau. Once we finally got thru to someone at Viator who told us that M&M was our tour, things went more smoothly. Our driver was amazing and very knowledgeable. We didn’t know the visitor center was extra money. For the price of the tour, it really should’ve been included. 2 hours at the glacier was too long. Over all, nice excursion? Not quite worth the money though.

5.00Our driver Alicia was a Juneau native and provided us with lots of info during our dirve to and from the Mendenhall Glacier & Nugget Falls. She pointed out bald eagles and bears! The Glacier view was not as exciting for us as the Nugget falls, so defintely worth the 20 min walk along the gravel path. If you go at the end of the day, the restrooms close as does the indoor viewing station.
You need to see this Glacier.

5.00This is a great trip to do on your day in Juneau. It leaves from the Cruise ship port. It’s a quick drive to the Glacier. Their id a narrated drive as well as dad jokes from your driver. Aiden our driver gave us a great ride and lots of local advice.

5.00We booked this shore excursion from our Carnival cruise and we loved it. We had absolutely beautiful weather and the water fall was our favorite. Good walk so be prepared. If you want to climb close to it you will get wet. Highly recommend. Trail #1 nugget trail should be experienced first then the other trails if time permits.

5.00This tour was so much fun. We did a scenic tour of the town and the hit the wilderness. Tim our tour guide was very informative as well as a lot of fun and a fantastic photographer.
