5.00Our trip to Meteora was organized by Visit Meteora company. The service they provided was exemplary. Our guide Hristo had an incredible depth of understanding about the region — from the geology of the mountains and the history of Meteora monasteries to the local plants and their uses. Hiking with Hristo felt like an immersive lesson in nature, history, and culture. The Hermit Caves Sunset Hiking Experience tour was demanding at times but Hristo provided the right level of support and instruction and we always felt safe and comfortable. He also had a wonderful eye for photography offering breaks just at the right places. To explore Meteora on foot is the best way to see and explore this beautiful region. To have a local guide such as Hristo is a treat which allows for a meaningful and inspiring experience.

5.00One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Greece! The Hermit Caves hike was far beyond a typical sightseeing tour — it felt like a journey through history, nature, and spirituality all at once. The landscapes were breathtaking, with hidden caves, dramatic rock formations, forest paths, and incredible sunset views over Meteora. Our guide was exceptional: knowledgeable, passionate, patient, and genuinely inspiring. We learned so much about the hermits who once lived inside the caves, the monasteries, local traditions, geology, and even the plants and wildlife of the area. The stories and conversations made the experience deeply meaningful and personal. The hike itself was adventurous but manageable, with many beautiful stops for photos and moments to simply appreciate the silence and atmosphere of Meteora away from the crowds. The sunset at the end was unforgettable. If you want to experience the authentic and hidden side of Meteora, this tour is an absolute must. Highly recommended!

With only us (two friends) and the guide Chris present, it was like hiking with a friend of a friend who seamlessly kept track of both our safety and pointed out interesting tidbits along the way. Chris took us through the hills to heights we couldn't imagine reaching with such ease and past sights we'll never forget - including turtles! As we'd taken the half-day monastery tour with Visit Meteora earlier in the day Chris could personalise the hike to our interests and level. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00Chris was a magnificent guide and kept an eye on all 4 (2 adults and 2 teenagers) during the route. He gave us information of all kinds: geology, history, traditions... And the sunset, an amazing colophon.

5.00Meteora was a highlight of our Greece trip and this tour was the highlight of that highlight. Hiking up and between the monoliths was beautiful. The Hermit Cave, the bell and the sunset were also fantastic. The most exposed section is a ladder climb but I honestly didn't find it too exposed. I'd say it was moderate for experienced hikers. Well worth the trip.
