One of the most amazing experiences ever! Had the bonus of having dolphins follow us back in. Hard to explain the beauty

Visiting Milford Sound was one of my life list things to do, and it didn’t disappoint, if anything it exceeded my expectations. The booking team were amazingly helpful as I had booked the wrong day but that wasn’t an issue. The boat was exactly what I had expected through the photos and descriptions. The host team were friendly and helpful and we lucked out with an excellent guide who provided information about the sound, facts to help rationalise some of the information and pointed out a penguin which aren’t usually in the area this time of year. All that said nothing can compare to the amazing scenery that makes Milford Sounds, it is impossible to put into words how epic it is and photos done do it justice.

We went from Queenstown to Milford Sound by coach & cruise. The experience was fantastic from beginning to end! Lovely comfortable coach. The driver, Paulie, from Ireland, was nothing short of brilliant from the moment he met us at pick up point until we were dropped off back in Queenstown!! Very good driver, felt safe in his hands the whole journey, did not break suddenly once and that’s saying something considering the roads he was driving on. His knowledge of the area was amazing and his anecdotes were fabulous and kept us interested the whole journey. The transfer from coach to cruise was seemless. The cruise was magnificent. The scenery was spectacular. Again, transfer from cruise to coach was seemless. This comment may sound gushy but it really was fantastic, worth getting up at 5.30am for and exceeded all our expectations. (Whatever Paulie is paid, it’s not enough!)

Brilliant experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Its a must visit destination, which definitely considered as an eighth wonder of the world. Drive or fly from Queenstown to Milford sound is always memorable. Looking forward to visit there again.

The sights and commentary provided on the boat was good. Our booking was through a tour company and we were aware we had lunch. The Real NZ rep on check in did not explain how the lunch was provided to us. There were 2 large coach parties and their lunches were laid out on tables when we boarded. We asked one of the crew at the food counter about ours and they did not seem to know what was going on but found our names on a list and gave us each a pre prepared lunch in a large box. No alternative to a meat sandwich was offered, the food was ok but not what we were expecting and given to us at 10:30 which was I felt a tad early for lunch ! The drive to Milford Sound was amazing and well worth getting up early for. Great scenery as you arrive in the national park. The tunnel is an amazing engineering feat! We were lucky to see a Kea bird close up! It had landed on a car and the occupants were feeding it! This was near to the tunnel on the Milford Sound side.

So glad we didn’t try to drive to Milford Sound, this was a much better way to go! The coach was very comfortable, our driver was extremely knowledgeable and the views were amazing out of the huge windows and glass roof, couldn’t recommend it more as the way to go. And the stops along the way were picture perfect.

We enjoyable cruise Fabulous waterfalls especially due to the Rain that Fiordland had had over the passed few days. Very competent crew, very informative commentary Our only disappointment was the lack of snacks/ toasties in the early afternoon Coffee and Tea fine Toastie sandwich would have been nice

Get there early as the road and parking were busy and full. Also take your own food and drinks. There was nothing to buy at the terminal and the food and service on the boat were poor.
