What To Expect
When picking up, you can identify me with the Mirimiri Tours poster, I offer two types of guided tours: *Discoveries (3 to 4 hours) - short tour of the city by car Or the possibility to visit a small craft shop - visit to a mini farm - Faaroa Botanical Garden , or Gabbros, volcanic curiosities within the caldera (depending on the morphology, health and ages of visitors,) - Stop at the Belvedere - visit of a pearl farm - judgments on different magnificent points of view - the Marae Taputapuatea - back to the city *Immersions (full day, including Discovery Tours) - optional if available , Lunch break (not included in the Tour) for culinary curiosities - public white sandy beach (swimming, according to customer desire) With snack of local fruits and fresh water Visits for you or in a group were created by the desire to make you live an unforgettable experience with personalized attention. She picked us up in a brand-new, very comfortable van with efficient air conditioning—an important detail in the tropical climate. Cathy herself is a standout guide: charming, highly knowledgeable, and genuinely service-oriented. She provided insightful context on the island, its culture, and local life, while keeping the tour engaging and relaxed. What we appreciated most was her flexibility—she adapted the itinerary to our interests and pace without any rigidity. Overall, a very well-run, comfortable, and informative experience. 5.00Cathy is the kind of guide who makes you feel like you’re exploring the island with a knowledgeable friend rather than on a packaged tour. She took us to the iconic Marae Taputapuatea, one of the most sacred and historically significant sites in all of French Polynesia, and before entering, she paused to offer a beautiful prayer in her native language – a deeply moving moment that set the tone for everything that followed. She then gifted us with a song, sharing a piece of her culture in the most personal and generous way. It was one of those unexpected moments that stays with you long after the trip is over. Beyond the marae, she brought us to a pearl farm run by a close friend of hers, and her husband had actually helped them get their business off the ground. Having that personal connection made all the difference – the explanation of the pearl cultivation process was intimate, genuine, and far richer than anything you’d get on a standard tour stop. We also visited the Belvédère de Faaroa, the Jardin Botanique de Faaroa, and the remarkable Promenade des Gabbros, a geological wonder unique to the Faaroa Valley. Throughout every stop, Cathy was our personal photographer, consistently going out of her way to make sure we had beautiful memories to take home. She was warm, generous with her time, and clearly proud to share her culture and island with us. If you are visiting Raiatea, do not hesitate – book Cathy. She will make your time there truly count.
