What To Expect
During the Kathmandu: Local Lead Momo Making Class, you’ll dive into Nepal's culinary traditions with a hands-on, interactive experience. The class starts at 1 PM, where you’ll meet your local expert chef. First, you’ll embark on a guided market tour to gather fresh ingredients for your momo filling, choosing between vegetarian, vegan, or chicken options. This will introduce you to the vibrant local food scene as you explore the market. Back at the cooking academy, you’ll learn how to prepare the dough and filling from scratch, guided step-by-step by the instructor. You’ll then shape the momos and choose between making traditional steamed momos or experimenting with soup momo. Once the momos are ready, you’ll enjoy a tasting session, savoring the freshly made momos along with a complimentary cup of Nepali masala tea. Whether you're a beginner or experienced cook, this class offers a fun, educational, and authentic Nepali culinary experience. Optional hotel pickup within Kathmandu Valley is available for your convenience.

5.00Very nice class for couples to take. We initially signed up for just momo making, but we were allowed to sign up for making other things as part of a full course meal the same day! Of course we had to pay extra for that but it was nice we were able to add that option last minute. If you go that route, do plan to spend an hour or so more of extra time to make the other menu options, but it's a good value for a full course meal with the momos =)

From selecting the menu, to heading out into the bustling streets to haggle for fresh produce and then preparing it under the guide of a chef… this couldn’t have exceeded my expectations anymore! The staff were lovely, informative and patient. I highly recommend the Academy! 5 stars
