• Highlight of our Vietnam Trip

  The Mon Chéri cruise is an absolute must-do for three days and two nights. You’ll get so much more out of it. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout the trip. The views were spectacular, and we cruised to several different places. We even got to kayak and visit two amazing locations with breathtaking views and beautiful beaches. We had two tours to different parts of the main island. The cabin was absolutely amazing with a large balcony Gohan was our server for all meals and was exceptionally friendly and attentive to our needs. He was fantastic, and the food was amazing, with different menus each day. Cherry was also very helpful and always explained upcoming events, letting us know when and where to be for everything. We had high expectations for this cruise, and it exceeded everything we could have imagined. I would highly recommend this tour and would love to do it again myself. This tour was definitely the highlight of our Vietnam trip.

  Fantastic service and food. The staff really made this for me. I was a little disappointed with the large size and look of the boat compared to others on the water but once inside it was lovely. It also felt a bit like people processing as the boat just went to and from the same parking spots to let more guests on and off. I suspect all the boats are the same. I also don’t think the cruise description is accurate as you just move from a day parking spot to a night parking spot and back again - you don’t cruise around. It is also not really 3 days as you don’t board until the afternoon on day 1 and you check out at 9.30 on day 3. But what was on offer was brilliant, if not what was advertised at the time.

  Booking this cruise was extremely easy. The shuttle service picked us up at our hotel right on time. The shuttle had wifi and massage chairs. We were greeted at the ship with a welcome beverage and served a lovely buffet lunch. Cruise director Cherry detailed the trip so we knew what to expect. Our server/butler John was so helpful all three days. Meals were tasty with nice presentation. Our cabin was spacious and we loved our private balcony! The mattress and pillows were heavenly. We joined all the activities (Cat Ba Island, cave exploring, spring roll cooking demo, BOGO happy hour, games, etc.) which were well organized. Would definitely recommend!

• Perfect visit to Halong Bay!

  Highly recommend Mon Cheri for their 3 day/2 night Halong Bay cruise; my partner and I wish we could have stayed even longer! The area is stunningly beautiful and the staff was super nice, especially Tam and Ryann. We participated in kayaking (fun and idyllic) and bicycle-riding (a nice and easy ride) on Cat Ba Island. The boat was clean and spacious and our room was spectacular with a lengthy balcony, very comfortable bed, and wonderful shower. Our ship wasn't full during our stay and we never felt crowded at any point. Every meal was delicious. Some reviewers have mentioned the alcoholic drinks being pricey...while the beers were slightly more expensive than what you'd find elsewhere in Vietnam, it's still MUCH less than we'd pay for the equivalent in the United States.

• Luxurious 2 night experience in a new boat!

  What a luxurious experience. The boat we were on was Mon Cheri 2, which was apparently their newest boat, built in 2019, and it shows. The cabins are spacious with a bed that could have fit 4 of me, and a huge picture window and spacious balcony. Plenty of closet space, even a little desk for writing. AC was very new and very strong. Bathroom was nicely sized, with a shower on one side (great water pressure, instant hot water), and a Jacuzzi on the other (unfortunately, mine didn't work, but the staff offered to fix it, and it wasnt a big deal for me). No need to bring anything - they have dental kit, comb, you name it. I did the 2 night stay, which I recommend, since it allows you some more time in the region when there's fewer guests around. First day was kayaking near the boat. Second day was a bike tour on Cat Ba Island (very sweaty but lovely to get out and about), then some more kayaking. Third day was a cave trek (didn't join). Second day, we were transferred to a day boat, which was still very nice with AC and the full spread of lunch just like on the main boat. The staff was warm and welcoming, though the onboarding was a bit hectic with a bunch of boats boarding one after another. The staff all address you by name during the experience, and are generally very observant and consistently offer great service for anything you need. I added on a very nice massage which solved my back problems for a bit. The pricing for extras (drinks, for instance) will be higher than what you see elsewhere in Vietnam. Just forewarning. All in all, 10/10 would travel again, and would bring my family too!
