Whenever you are about to explore a "new" city, in my opinion, the best solution to get a general and immediate picture is certainly to proceed with a visit on board the tourist buses 🚍. In this sense, the Principality of Monaco 🇲🇨 is certainly no exception, which is why, as soon as we arrived 🚶🏻🚶🏻♀️ at the Port of Hercules ⚓️, we immediately headed for the stop 🚏 n. 1 ("Bateau Bus") of the "Monaco Le Grand Tour" line (we had meanwhile been informed on the net 🌐 even though we could not buy tickets from the official website). The bus, a nice red double decker 🔴 uncovered, showed up on time at the bus stop, even a little early (it was precisely 12.25 🕧), allowing us to buy tickets on board by card 💳 and to sit upstairs. Along with the travel tickets 🎟 (25 euros 💶 per person for the daily unlimited rides) the kind driver 🧑🏻🦲 also gave us the route maps and the canonical headphones for the audio guide 🔊. Regarding the latter, each pair of seats has the appropriate devices 📟 to insert the connectors of the earphones and adjust volume and language (those available are: 1 French 🇨🇵, 2 English 🇬🇧, 3 Spanish 🇪🇦, 4 Italian 🇮🇹, 5 German 🇩🇪, 6 🇯🇵 Japanese, 7 Russian 🇷🇺, 8 Chinese 🇨🇳). At 12.30 🕧 split we left, reaching the stops in a short time 🚏 n. 2 and 3, respectively "Japanese garden" 🎋 and "sporting". The latter represents the easternmost of the entire itinerary being practically close to the border with France 🇨🇵, so much so that from here the vehicle 🚍 performs a U-turn ↩️ at a roundabout then reaching the fourth stop 🚏, that of "Villa Sauber". The tour then continues to the most famous and iconic district of the entire Principality 🇲🇨, of course Monte Carlo, with its lavish casino 🎰🎲♠️♥️♦️♣️ and the no less famous "Loews curve" of the Formula 1 racing circuit 🏎🏁. After the sixth stop 🚏 ("Place Sainte Dévote") you enter the oldest district of the kingdom, Monaco-Ville, corresponding to the stops 🚏 n. 7 and 8 ("Place du Palais" and "Musée Océanographique"). Finally, the stages at "Roseraie Princesse Grace" (b. 9), "Stade Louis II" 🏟⚽️ (b. 10), "Princesse Stéphanie" (b. 11) and again "Bateau Bus" that completes the tour 🚍. Back at the starting point, considering also the beautiful sunny day 🌞, we decided to stay on board to give ourselves an appropriate encore, but moving to the back seats to be more comfortable. At 2 pm 🕑 we then got off at "Place du Palace" to visit the old town 🏫⛪️, finally taking the means 🚍 one last time at 4.15 🕟 at the stop of "Princesse Stéphanie" to arrive "Monte-Carlo Casino" (the n. 5) now at dusk. We were absolutely satisfied with it, so it is a solution that I would definitely RECOMMEND 👍🏻.

This was a very easy and comprehensive overview of Monte Carlo. Many historical and current facts about the areas is included. If you can, try to get off at the Palace by 11:30 am to watch the changing of the guard at 11:55 pm. For people who are cruising there is a stop right at the cruise terminal.

Very convenient way to travel the city and its highlights. There are 130 cabs and they are still too hard to catch. It’s very hilly and challenging to walk. Highly recommend.

Discover Monaco practical with audio commentary. This allows you to get a global idea of the principality without wasting too much time and choosing its points of interest.Stop 6 next to the station is convenient but not well indicated. On the other hand the fare of 25€ is a bit excessive because in fact the journey is very short and the points of interest are quite close so if you have good legs and time better to do it on foot
