What To Expect
Ciudad Vieja
Welcome to Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay! We’ll be waiting for you at the meeting point in the Port of Montevideo to start the tour of Ciudad Vieja. Our first stop is Plaza Constitución, where we'll visit the historic Montevideo Cathedral. Stroll with us through this charming square, surrounded by antiques and pieces of Uruguayan history.
Plaza Independencia
Then, we will get back on the minivan for a brief 3-minute drive to Plaza Independencia. Alongside the guide, you will learn about iconic buildings such as the Salvo Palace, the Executive Tower, the City Gate, the Solís Theatre, and the Estevez Palace.

5.00Really enjoyed this city tour of Montevideo. We were on a cruise and it was very convenient to meet the Yellow Penguin tour guide at the port. Tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable and took his time with our slow walkers. Very enjoyable experience and just what we expected on a one day tour to Montevideo. Highly recommend.

4.00It was a nice adventure. Rather interesting to learn and see how the people live. Some of the homes were interesting. I wondered about the piers/docks and the security of them. I wish we had longer for shopping and tasting the food. All and all a great adventure.

5.00We had an amazing time and our tour guide Jamie was the best! We were fortunate to have an in home Asado experience included with our tour and if offered I highly recommend you do it. Great food and wine and the warmest hospitality. I can’t recommend Yellow Penguin enough. We booked all of our excursions with them and never had any issues and if you are on a cruise, you will get back on time. They guarantee it.

3.00I was disappointed in the whole of montevideo i was expecting more i think .This wasn't a reflection on our tour guide who was great i just don't think it was interesting enough for him to do any better both him and the driver were lovely. I've spoken to my fellow travellers who have done alternative tours operators who say the same so font let this put you off booking
