Step into the slippers of a local as we snack our way around Moorea with your local guide. Tama'a means to eat in Tahitian and we will be doing just that as you and our taste buds will discover the best local spots.
During your food tour you will taste and visit authentic local finds that will offer unique flavors where locals like to eat. You will be taken off the beaten bath and discover local "snack shops" and road side fruit stands. The food in Tahiti consists of three cultures; Tahitian, Chinese, and French. On the Tama'a street food tour we will seek out hidden food gems from all three backgrounds.
Guest will experience 10-12 tastings, depending on season and availability. The tour will take between 4-5 hours.
We will also stop at some breathtaking sites, and get a little cultural history of the island. The tour stops in the main town of Maharepa.
Come join us for a unique Moorea experience with Tahiti Food Tours, and learn about the Moorea culinary scene.

Absolutely top notch experience! I’d recommend you do this early in your trip so you’ll have time to go back to the places you visit multiple times!!

Heimata is such a wonderful ambassador for the island. The food was amazing and I really enjoyed learning more about the mix of cultures that influenced the food today.

H was an awesome guide! Local with culinary experience from outside the islands who came back and shares his love of local food and culture. Did a great job of getting the group talking and 16 different tastings on the tour. His culinary school background comes out even when talking about Moorean street food. Would go again and can’t recommend highly enough. Great thing to do on your first day or 2 on the island.

What an awesome experience!!! A great introduction to Tahitian food…and culture. Heimata is so personable and shares his knowledge about the cuisine and its history. We ate where the locals go…learning and tasting our way through the tour. This is a must do if you want an introduction to “Tahitian” food…and an enjoyable educational day! Went back to eat at the stops, and recommendations from him for the rest of our stay in Moorea!! Mauruuru Heimata!!!

We had a fantastic time with Heimata exploring the food scene on Mo’orea. We learned so much about the island’s history and culture while sampling local dishes and discovering hidden spots we likely would have missed on our own. We only wished we had taken the tour at the very beginning of our stay. Our host was a true gem—his storytelling was both engaging and informative. Bon appétit!

A fantastic, informative tour and how passionately and proudly Heimata talks about Polynesian cuisine, its dishes and history! It felt more like we were out with an old friend then with a guide. The many different snacks were surprising, others more familiar but with a twist.Great to do this tour at the beginning of your vacation so you know what to expect. Oh, and make sure you start on an empty stomach ;~) Thank you Heimata for a lovely morning!
