Here you can witness the most incredible landscapes and step inside a part of the Tasmanian World Heritage Area. Being one of Australia’s oldest and most diverse national parks, with some of the tallest trees in the Southern Hemisphere, Mount Field is full of natural wonders, abundant wildlife and ecological richness. Make your way through to the iconic Russell Falls and Horseshoe Falls where cascading waterfalls await, stroll through the rainforests, and admire the towering eucalypt trees. You may also spot native wildlife such as wallabies, echidnas, the unique platypus and various rare bird species that inhabit this environment. In the afternoon consider exploring some options of locally-grown produce, along with tastings both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

My fiancée and I were taken around for a day tour with Mark. Mark is a very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide - I dare say the most knowledgeable by far out of our whole trip to Tassie! He was chock-full of fun facts and informative tid-bits about just about everything we came across during the tour, whether it was the storied history behind the bridges/highways in Tassie or even right down to the reason certain tree species were found in some parts of the land and not others, types of wildlife native to the land, etc. Mark is clearly passionate about Tassie and keen to share his insights to the beautiful scenery around us, and it showed clear as day. He also tailored suggestions for our itinerary for the day based on the types of travellers we were, and it worked out wonderfully. I highly recommend Mark and Tassie Tours to everyone visiting Tasmania for a truly memorable and fun time :)

Had a great time visiting Mount Field national park on this tour. Plenty to do and see. Highlight of the trip was definitely the forest walk to Russell falls. Stunning scenery which was topped of with the sightings of the local wildlife. Mark our guide was truly hilarious and gave us many laughs throughout the day whilst also being very informative. The tour finishes with a visit to the MONA art gallery which is one of the must do things to do whilst in Hobart. All in all of you want a fun day trip to see some of Tasmanian I highly recommend going on this tour

Such an awesome tour we loved it from start to finish! Mark was a brilliant guide he had us laughing all day and was very knowledgeable about all matters Tassie and Hobart related. The actual tour itself was fantastic too we thoroughly enjoyed the walk and Mount Field and MONA. This is a no brainer if you have a spare day whilst visiting Hobart or even if you’re a local. Great price too.

This was a really great day out and a well organised tour. Mt Field and Russell Falls were really beautiful, the walk through the giant old trees was breathtaking. The combination of stopping at Mona and catching the ferry back into the city was so great, nice to see the crazy art, have a drink and jump on the ferry back to the waterfront - how perfect is that?! Peter, our guide for the day, was engaging, funny and shared so much information, not just about where we were but other areas in the state. Totally recommend this tour (and company). 5 stars, would definitely book again on a return Tasmanian trip.

We really enjoyed this trip! It’s good that you have different options for the hiking. We did the longest one and enjoyed it a lot! With the stop on the tour back (salmon ponds), we ate good food and even saw a platypus :)
