  • Sunrise Tour with Nao

Wonderful surface level tour of Fuji and Hakone areas. The whole tour was seamless and well executed, and made us want to return someday. We arrived at the departure point at exactly the scheduled time due to traffic, and there was someone outside to flag us down and make sure we got on the bus quickly. Our tour guide, Nao was engaging and fluent in English (it turns out that he went to college in the US). He has climbed the mountain multiple times, and knew quite a bit about it and the local culture. Lunch was delightful and quite extensive (we got the normal beef sukiyaki option. Apparently there's a government subsidy of wagyu right now, so our hot pot was made with this.) The taiko performance over lunch was engaging. It was a nice extra that the other tours don't seem to have. If we do any more organized tours while we're here, we'll definitely consider Sunrise again first.
