Gobustan Rock Art
1) Modern interactive Museum. In the Museum, you will find perfectly selected exhibitions with the use of the most modern technology that will help you learn the meaning of petroglyphs (rock paintings). In 11 exhibition halls, (the Halls are equipped with 3D panoramas, touch screens) there is a huge collection of priceless historical exhibits, interesting for both adults and children. 2) An open air Museum. In mountains of Gobustan Beyukdash there were concentrated witnesses of the past of azerbaijanian nation of the epoch of Stone Age and ongoing periods – rocky paintings, camp of man, tombstones and etc. The most significant of them are rocky pictures – petroglyphs, carved by primitive men on walls of caves, rocks and stony lumps. The aforesaid primitive monuments of art reflect culture, economy, world outlook, customs and traditions of ancient azerbaijanian peoples

5.00We had a wonderful experience with Azterra during our visit to Azerbaijan in August 2025. Many thanks to Elvina, who was amazingly responsive in answering questions and accommodating our wishes. We travelled with Azterra to Gobustan, Ateshgah, and Ismayilli ( with various stops on the way), but most importantly, Elvina introduced us to a wonderful guide, Rustam Rastamov, in Naxcivan. Visiting Naxcivan with its wonderful Alinja Castle and Gamigaya petroglyphs together with our guide and his friend, an archaeology professor, was a truly amazing experience! Thank you, Elvina and Rustam!

5.00Wonderful in moderation full of information and locations individual tour of the natural attraction of Baku. I had a great time, pleased with the clear organization of the preparation and the tour itself. Many thanks to the guide Kirim and the accompanying driver for their professional work and hospitality. Without Kirim's clues, I wouldn't have seen half of Gaboustan's petroglyphs, which are beautiful. It's an eternity that you can touch with your fingertips, and it's an amazing feeling.

5.00It was easy to book this trip with Azterra Travel. The guide was waiting in the hotel reception for us and was knowledgeable throughout. The mud volcanoes were interesting and worth a visit. Gobustan likewise was worth visiting. Nice museum gives a good insight into the rock art. Overall - I would certainly recommend.

5.00We were on two field trips. Everything was well organized, a tour guide came up on time and a car was quickly served. Although two tourists did not come to the second tour (they just forgot) - for three people the tour took place! For this thank you very much Jamal Ibrahimov My companion (Dimitri) wrote a review "We learned on the tour: who is enlightened and who is ser. And we were led to the heights of knowledge by the sun-like Iskander. Sun-like he's not from a yellow shirt, It's because all around him... as around the sun, much light of knowledge. And a smile just a little bit covered by a black mustache always warms..." "The machine is a beast. Driver - ass. We've seen more than once, When to the volcanoes on top, He lifted us up in his car. 5.00I ended a busy weekend of racing with an educational excursion to Gobustan. Unique petroglyphs, the oldest human parking lot, an atmospheric walk through a windy rock valley, mud volcanoes, lakes, unforgettable experiences and beautiful photographs - all these and much, much more in one trip. It's a shame I have one day off for travel. I'll be sure to contact the boys on my next visit to Baku. Thank you very much.
