What To Expect
One of the many city natural parks and part of research lab, Museu da Amazonia (aka MUSA) offers nearly 250 acres of nature near the center of Manaus, Brazil. Access the trails, trees, frogs, orchids, and birds, and climb up the 135 foot observation tower with a guide for views over the whole thing. At Musa, we find exhibitions, nursery of orchids and bromeliads, lake, aquariums and experimental laboratories of snakes, insects and butterflies. A tower of 42 meters allows to enjoy a magnificent view of the forest canopy of trees, unforgettable when seen at six in the morning. Forest trails provide visitors with pleasant walks and amazing discoveries. At Musa, research is carried out in the dissemination and popularization of science and scientific and cultural education. House of culture and science, of coexistence and celebration of the diversity of being in the world. A place where humans and nonhuman live happily together. Wonderful insight into the jungle with its flora and fauna

5.00A very good opportunity to learn more about the jungle. Located on the outskirts of the city, various educational trails lead through the grounds and in small pavilions and buildings special animal and plant species are shown and explained by staff (e.g. snakes or spiders). We were there in the afternoon on purpose to watch the sunset from the large tower above the treetops. We were able to observe toucans and other birds.
Our trip to the Amazon and Maaus was delayed but our toyr operator kindly altered our time of visit full marks to them

5.00We were picked up at our shuttle bus destination in Manaus ,think it was the ferry terminal .We had a comfortable car journey there only being 4 persons in our group ,there was no English speaking Guide available for this tour ,but no matter we got by OK. MUSA gives some idea of what the main Rain Forest is like ,sadly we had had no sleep on our late arrival ,the forest walks were interesting and we did see a turtle and a small Cayman in the pond as well as Victoria Water Lilly's,personally i was looking forward to doing the tower but it became apparent that at 79 years it was not going to be possible for me .Two of the younger members in our party managed to do it so it is possible if you are fit enough.Think this tour was very good value ,and booking on line from the UK was easy.If you want a flavour of the Forest without actually going into the wild this is for you ,go do it .
