Amboseli National Park
You will be picked up early in the morning from your centrally located hotel for a full-day excursion to Amboseli National Park. The journey, conducted in a comfortable tour van, takes approximately three hours and passes through Maasai territory. Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, is visible from within the park. Along the route, you may see young Maasai children by the roadside. Amboseli National Park is known for its sparse vegetation, which increases the likelihood of viewing wildlife. Key species found in the park include African bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, impalas, Masai lions, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, Masai giraffes, plains zebras, and blue wildebeest, among others. Numerous bird species are also present. A hot lunch is provided at Kibo Safari Camp, where a swimming pool is available should you wish to use it. Following lunch, the return journey to Nairobi begins, with drop-off at either your hotel or the international airport.

Took a vacation to Kenya and one of he first places i visited is Amboseli national park. It was experience was splendid, able to see three of the big five. It was such an amazing experience. We also interacted with the masai community at a masai village where we learnt so much about their culture. It was such a lifetime exposure. I would recommend!

We did this trip as a family of 4 and 2 other people joined the tour. Left Nairobi very early, kids still sleepy and quiet. The drive is long, not going to lie, but once we reached Amboseli everything changed. Elephants were the first thing we noticed. So many of them. Just walking around like it’s normal, while we’re all staring in silence. We also saw giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a bunch of birds the kids kept arguing about. Then Kilimanjaro showed up. Clear sky, snow on top. That moment alone was worth the drive. Our guide was really good with us, especially with the kids. Calm, patient, explaining things in a simple way, and always making sure we got good views for photos. Never felt rushed. Felt relaxed. The Maasai village visit came later and it was actually one of the nicer parts. Learning how families live, how the homes are built, daily routines. It didn’t feel fake or pushed, which was nice. The kids asked questions, and they were answered honestly. By the end of the day everyone was tired. Proper tired. But happy. Bring snacks, water, sunscreen, and maybe a zoom camera because phones don’t always do justice. If you’re in Nairobi with family and want wildlife, culture, and those classic Amboseli views in one day, this trip is worth doing. The admission fee was $90 dollars per person which is quite expensive but worth it. No regrets.
