From the relaxed comfort of our covered New Orleans Swamp Tour Boats, you will drift slowly past a 2000 year old Indian Burial Mound, a Cajun cemetery and a fishing village! You'll admire the wildlife that made the Barataria Swamps the Crown Jewel of the Louisiana Purchase. Here, birds, snakes, turtles, fur animals, and gators - the king of the swamp - are easily spotted in Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Folding wheelchairs are allowed, but the driver is not allowed to pick up a person to help them gain entrance. The customer must get into the minibus by themselves or with assistance from family or friends.

Please note you are not guaranteed to see a gator. They hibernate in winter months but are easily spotted in spring, summer, and fall.

Service animals are permitted.

Emotional support animals are not permitted.

Barataria Preserve

On this tour, you will enjoy a fully narrated swamp tour by one of our local captains on the comfort of a swamp tour boat. Our tour boats feature a roof, cushioned seats, windows that can be raised or lowered for the weather, restroom, and plenty of standing and walking room. You may even experience a close encounter with some of the local swamp life. The Swamp Tour by Tour Boat with Pickup does include ground transportation.

This was a fabulous break from the city - and the best part was the pontoon boat Capt Ernie. He was so knowledgeable and interesting and we enjoyed every minute even though we only saw one small alligator and it was chilly. He knows so much about the wildlife and the history of the area. Loved it.

100000% recommended and worth the price! They pick you straight from the hotel and return you back, and our driver, Lorraine was so welcoming fun and a whole vibe. She made the ride (and traffic) seem quick and easy. Captain Ernie made the whole trip absolutely amazing! Hilarious and very informative, and although it was cold he was able to spot some alligators and got us up close. Absolutely recommend! Bring cash for tips

Ernie was amazing!!! It was so cool hearing all about the bayou, gators and his own personal experiences. Plus, with his awesome sense of humor…..he kept me laughing. To our surprise when he brought out a baby alligator and lets us all hold it…that was an opportunity I did not expect!! Thank you so much Ernie and God Bless!

this tour was so much fun! we saw multiple gators and other wildlife, and got to hold a baby gator. the guide was amazing and told us about the area and animals. would 100% do this again!
