Why this experience? We LIVED this firsthand. We're Born & raised in Little Italy - or cops who worked the streets here - both active and retired/ NYPD Officers. Our “walk with stories” breaks the typical tour company mold of boring facts, repetitive "stops" & irrelevant dates replaced with personal life experiences. Walk the very streets where the mafia strolled with a real resident and meet other locals along the way. Plus food included is equivalent to a full 3 course dinner!
Growing up witnessing some of New York’s infamous families and having consulted for TV and major films makes this a unique experience no other company can offer.
Beginning at a famous Mafia "Red Sauce Joint" as seen in Soprano's and "Get Gotti" this experience winds through the East Village & Little Italy visiting notorious Mafia and Crime locations sharing personal true crime stories and eating amazing food from the neighborhood. John’s of 12th Street in NYC has a rich history intertwined with the Italian Mafia. Located in the East Village, this iconic Italian restaurant opened in 1908 and quickly became a popular spot for mobsters12. During Prohibition, it operated as a speakeasy, making wine and whiskey in the basement1. One of the most notorious events associated with John’s was the 1922 assassination of Umberto Rocco Valenti, a Morello family hitman, who was killed there during a "peace meeting". The restaurant’s old-world charm and connection to the Mafia have made it a legendary spot, even featured in shows like Boardwalk Empire and The Sopranos We meet inside the back room of this iconic "Red Sauce Joint" for many reasons including the historic relationship to the beginnings of the NYC Mafia

I had high expectations based on the reviews, but I was somewhat disappointed. There was less history than I expected, and our tour guide’s service with the NYPD was brief. He encouraged questions, but I think it was too much: our group’s questions over the tour. He told too many stories about his love life. The tour would have benefited from a more structured Presentation, instead of “off the cuff“ remarks prompted by our tour group’s questions.

What a great experience to walk down the streets that the ol’ timers once strolled. The stories and the chronological order in which the history was told to you was awesome. What a great place to end the tour, the heart of Little Italy.

There was good food and plenty of it. The guide was very knowledgeable. You could hear him well without even a microphone. For us, who do not know much about the mafia families, it was a little confusing and too detailed. If you have any difficulty walking, you will have trouble keeping up with the group and crossing the intersections.

Mix of walking and dining was great. Our guide was clear, offered an interesting mix of stories, history and personal experiences. We enjoyed being at the sites where crazy events took place.
