Nikko Toshogu shrine is an unmissable UNESCO heritage site. We have seen a lot of temples and shrines over the past week in Japan but this one is by far my favourite and most impressive! Our guide Jose was amazing, he really made sure we got information about Japan and the places we visited. Highly recommend this tour.

Was a very good tour, Jose was exceptional and was very entertaining and informative. The fog on this particular day stopped us from seeing some of the areas we visited, however it was still a great experience and I had a great time. 10/10

Brilliant tour. Josè is a wonderful guide, always helpful and cheerful. I definitely recommend taking the tour. I’d have been happier if the tour more focused on the Tōshogu shrine compound itself which has a lot of history and great heritage sites, but since we were visiting too many places, we could only give it a couple hours. This does not do justice to the magnificence of the area. But anyway, super recommended!

Shrines and temples in Nikko are a must see. We have not seen the waterfall at all due to the weather (fog) but the shrine complex is worth the trip on its own. Beru is an excellent guide.

A great way to get out of Tokyo for the day and to see a real treasure, Nikko. Pay the 600 yen to go down the lift at the waterfall, it’s worth it. Got lunch at a brilliant restaurant in Kegon — try the “yuba” (tofu skin). Guide was excellent; he flowed from English to Spanish & back again faultlessly.

A wonderful escape from Tokyo to the most quaint, beautiful places. Jorge was trilingual and an exceptional tour guide; knowledgeable, funny and friendly. Hashimoto knew the roads like the back of his hand and so the drive there and back was very comfortable and smooth. Chuzenji Lake was a favourite! I would also recommend getting the add on lunch as it was a genuine authentic Japanese lunch and so delicious! The local dish (trout), was to die for. I would highly recommend this trip also if you are a solo traveller and a bit nervous to explore on your own but like the idea of a city escape.
