Discover Margaret River’s unique nocturnal wildlife on this exclusive night tour. The tour operates in a pocket of original bushland at Yelverton Brook Conservation Sanctuary; here you will discover uber-cute rare animals as they rise for their nightly antics, while gazing at the millions of stars in the sky. A variety of animals may be viewed including kangaroos, possums and bandicoots.
This nocturnal wildlife tour is family friendly. The tour includes a short guided bushwalk before arriving at the animal viewing area, and billy tea.

What To Expect
South West Eco Discoveries
On arrival at the sanctuary a short guided bush walk will take us to the animal viewing site. While you sit down and enjoy some bush billy tea or milo, your guides will provide entertaining stories and factual information about the wildlife and bushtucker native to the Margaret River Region. Watch for the animals as they come out for the night - possums, quendas, and kangaroos.

An awesome evening of flora and fauna

5.00We met with Mick and were the only people on the tour. He was extremely knowledgeable and chatty and pointed out many interesting plants including ones used by indigenous people for bush tucker, medicinal and other purposes. We saw and patted adorable kangaroos and watched possums and bandicoots. He showed us some constellations and other interesting things, I won’t give away all the surprises! Mick knows so much about the area and makes an excellent cuppa. This was my favourite tour on our trip and I’ve seen some amazing stuff.

5.00Ryan picked us up from our accommodation and drove us to the property where the tour operates. Absolutely amazing tour. Saw and fed kangaroos, quendas and possums. We were treated to bush tea and a ride home was included. So much fun. I recommend dressing for the weather and bushwalking.

5.00This was a fantastic experience. It was only myself and my two daughters this evening. Ryan knows his stuff and the kids had an absolute blast. It was so lovely to feed the kangaroos and get up (respectfully) close with a couple of possums. Saw loads of frogs and spiders, quendas and heard all the tales of the roos who came up. Highly recommend. My daughter wants to give it a million stars

5.00Can’t recommend this more! The nocturnal animal tour was “20 times better than expected” according to another family on our tour (which we agreed with). The animals like kangaroos, bandicoots and possums came so close. We had an impromptu star gazing tour as well. Mick and Ryan are knowledgeable, fun, and responsive to the kids’ many questions. They serve hot chocolate and cookies, too. Definitely do it.

5.00Had the most amazing evening with Ryan on the nocturnal wildlife tour. Ryan collected us from our accommodation and transported us to Yelverton Brook Conservation Park. We started with a brief walk to a small clearing in the forest. Along the way Ryan described some of the trees and bushes. Upon arriving at the clearing this is where the real magic began. There are no guarantees as to which animals will come and see you here but we were really very lucky with Bandicoots and around a dozen Kangaroos joining us - it was amazing! We then carried on deeper into the forest were we looked at other vegetation and hunted for various spiders. Ryan was also able to point of many star constellations as we walked too. It was a truly wonderful night and is something neither myself or my wife will ever forget.
A unique, fun for the whole family experience!

5.00Wow! What an experience! Our entire family had an amazing time interacting with several nocturnal species, learning about the native vegetation, and spectacular star gazing . The guides, Mic and Ryan, are engaging, informative, and passionate. The tour concludes with a 30-minute walk through the bush. The terrain is flat and not physically challenging; however, for young children, they might tire. So keep this in mind when planning: consider a backpack carrier for toddlers and an afternoon rest for the kiddos who don’t love a long walk. We would book this tour again and again!
