Al Khor
Also known as Al Khawr, which translates to "sea on three sides" in Arabic, this city is older than Doha but much smaller in size. Located just 50 kilometers north of Doha, Al Khor was once the heart of Qatar's pearling industry, though it lost its prominence after the advent of cultured pearls. Today, it is home to a picturesque harbor where traditional fishing dhows can be seen, a corniche that leads to mangrove forests, and a museum that highlights the region's fishing, pearling, and dhow-building heritage.

Punctual hotel pickup, brief explanation of the tour and then we started. Our guide Mohammad was very friendly, explained everything very understandably and could answer our questions. The stated destinations of the tour were all approached. We can recommend the tour.

Akbar was my tour guide, he had such a very enthusiastic and energetic character! As we drove by each place he explained everything clearly and was filled with many interesting facts throughout the guide! The car was filled with laughter, such a funny guy. Even if you go alone he's more than happy to take pictures for you and encourages you to take pictures everywhere. If you book this, you're in good hands with nomi, expect a really amazing experience!

The trip is a nice way to see different parts of Qatar, as in app. 6 hours you visit both North as well as Western areas. We liked the mangrove reserve and the Zekreet rocks, as they represent two totally different landscapes. The fort and the village offer a glimpse into the country's past. Rakan showed up on time, he drives really carefully and takes care of all passengers, especially seniors. He is also flexible when it comes to time arrangement.

We really enjoyed the tour. It was our first day in Qatar and it was a good option to see a bit of the country. Rakan is a good companion. He took us in a comfortable car and took good care of our comfort all the time (be it temperature or water). We saw the camel racing track, Jamail old village, crab fishermen port, Purple Island with mangroves and many more. We really appreciate Rakan's patience and the fact that the pace of the tour was adjusted to us and our needs.

Mustafa , our guide, was knowledgeable and professional. As we transversed the largely barren north and west of Qatar in his air-conditioned vehicle, that gave us much respite from the blazing heat, he peppered us with facts about the various stops along the way. We learnt a lot about Qatar, enjoyed traditional tea at the start of the tour and bottled water throughout. This tour would be good for those who have a keen interest in the sites on offer. We thank Abdullah for his patience with all our questions and wish him and his growing family all the best.
