From December to the end of January, Rovaniemi experiences a very high level of tourist traffic, which is why we often have to form exceptionally large groups for this activity. For a more private experience, we recommend that you book the Northern Lights Photography Tour - Small Group instead.

We sent to a Northern Lights Photography Tour in a day with how likehood to see the lights, but the deam checked a good place free of clouds and they found it¡ At the end it was an amazing auroa, 2 hours wonderful lights and dancing over our heads. Super positive experience. All very helpful, from reception with Anni, to our guides, James and Andrea, to the photographer. Barbecue in a nice cozy and comfortable place, with access to the bathroom. Wide view to see aurora. We were lucky!!!

A stunning night chasing the northern lights did not disappoint with a full brilliant show which our guide put us in a fantastic spot to observe. The hot berry tea really helped with the cold and learning more about what and why the northern lights are We had a full week in Lapland arranged by Nordic Unique Travel. All their pick up and tour arrangments were on time and arranged for a family (my parents and our 5 year old son) they even provided thr booster seat in the vans.

Careful, big scam. Don't book with them. We paid €596 excursion and €140 pick-up from the hotel and were never given the time that was at 7pm. So we never did the excursion and when we asked to move it to a day that could suit us because we had to move other excursions, we were asked to repay. No commercial move, nothing. We are used to traveling, booking excursions but the big scam!!!!

SHAMEFUL I pay more than 200€ for a photo hunt at dawn. We left in several small vans. Once there we see aurora and queue to be photographed with the photographers. Once we have returned and sent them, we notice that we only appear on 1 single photo. It seems that only one photographer was ours BUT NO ONE SHOWS IT TO US OR EXPLAINS IT TO US. Moreover we had taken at least 5 photos with each photographer and the latter only put one while the others have many more. No refund obviously we are offered to RE-PAY (with a discount but pay anyway). A tour with no probability of seeing them even from the different applications. We tried and paid anyway. Result more than 400€ for 1 shitty photo and more than 2000€ give in total to the agency for all our reservations. No effort was made to find out where our photos are or even why MATOSĤ only put one out of the 5

It was my only night in Rovaniemi and therefore ONLY chance to see northern lights. Since I did a solo trip, I decided to book this photography tour and let me tell you - it did not disappoint. Everything was well organized - if you stay in Rovaniemi center, you’ll meet the guides in the main office, where you can also change into warm overalls (not mandatory). Then you get on a bus and drive approximately 1H to reach the location. However, we never made it there and stopped on some other frozen lake on the way because the aurora activity was already very strong. Some guides set the photo set while others already prepare everything for the BBQ. You need to wait in line to get your turn and of course it takes time (our group was huge - full bus) so you’ll be freezing (make sure to dress up REALLY warm) but it’ll be worth it. While taking your picture, it is important to stay completely still for about 10s so that the camera captures everything perfectly. Once you’re done, you can join the other guides by the fire where you’ll be offered a VERY delicious reindeer sausage (veg option available) and a cup of hot blueberry juice (local treat). There’s time for questions and the guides are also happy to help you with setting your phone, should you wish to capture aurora on your own. After everyone is done eating, the bus takes you back to the main office/your original pickup point. We finished your tour about an hour later (after midnight) as we were exceptionally large group. The whole experience was worth every penny, our group was super lucky with the weather conditions and we received stunning pictures sent to our email the next day. If you’re not lucky, they offer joining the same tour within a week for 50% price. SPECIAL THANK YOU to our guides Antoinette, Marijn, Chrissy and Maria for making my dream come true on my first night in Finland!!!
