Enjoy a 4.5-hour experience at the pristine untouched Great Barrier Reef at Cape Tribulation. This half-day eco-tour visits two different snorkel destinations, each with an extraordinary array of marine life and coral species. Get ready to snorkel, alongside sea turtles, two fabulous locations at Mackay and Undine Reefs. Swim over reefs full of colorful coral, along with myriads of tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams, and starfish.

What To Expect
This shared tour begins in Cape Tribulation beach where guests board the vessel bound for the tropical waters of the Great Barrier Reef. The Ocean Safari vessel is based on the original design of a rescue craft and is a rigid inflatable boat driven by 700hp engines. The experienced Skipper and Eco Host ensure the trip is filled with fun and appreciation of the Great Barrier Reef and the coastal rainforest of the Daintree, two world heritage areas side by side. Magical memories like these sometimes only happen once in a lifetime. On most days, the rainforest can be seen along the mainland beach whilst snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef. Swim alongside sea turtles, which is found in abundance swimming over reefs full of colorful coral, along with myriads of tropical fish, eagle rays, giant clams and starfish.off the Daintree Coast Courtesy pickups from Cape Tribulation accommodation are included and the Ocean Safari has an Advanced Eco Accreditation. The tour ends at the original departure point.

A great reef experience

5.00This is our second trip with Ocean Safari and again it was fantastic. We left Port douglas at 6am for a 1.5hr drive to Cape Tribulation. The drive was pleasant, with very little traffic and the scenarie was beautiful, especially once we crossed rhe Daintree River by ferry. From our arrival, check in and warm welcome to the awesome boat ride out to the reef, Ocean Safari surpassedall our expectations. The staff, in particular the skipper Liam and our guide Kiyana were brilliant, helpful and knowledgeable, a big thank you. In regards to the tour, the snorkelling was great, we saw giant clams, turtles, sting rays lovely corals, fish galore and even a black tip shark. We had two stops, with the highlight being a walk along the sand atoll. I highly recommend Ocean Safari if you want to experience the reef (and the rainforest) there is no better way to do it.

5.00The staff were able to accommodate us last minute despite a failed online booking (GetYourGuide did not transfer our booking to Ocean Safari). We had a wonderful experience with a really nice crew and saw a variety of fishes, clams, starfish and see turtle amongst the beautiful reef on a gorgeous day. Totally worth the money. Thanks

5.00Had a fantastic day with Kiana and Liam . Liam drove the boat with ease and Kiana was a very informative guide. One of the best family days we have ever had. I loved the small numbers, under 30 of us, the attention to detail was great. As a beginner swimmer , I was encouraged to take a jacket which allowed me to completely relax and swim around for an hour safely. I will definitely book this trip when I am next passing this way again.

5.00Fantastic experience, Kiyana and Liam were amazing tour guides. They were friendly, really knew their stuff about the reef, and engaged us all. They were great to respect the reef and the wildlife too. We saw all sorts of fish, reef sharks, rays, and turtles. It wasn’t an overcrowded experience either which I’ve heard some tours can be. Can’t recommend the ocean safari highly enough 🙌

5.00We were a family of three adults and had the most incredible snorkelling trip with Ocean Safaris out of Cape Tribulation. From the very start, Brandon (skipper and marine biologist) and Bradley (snorkel guide and marine biologist) set the tone perfectly – fun, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. The safety briefing and explanation of how to behave on the reef to protect the coral was comprehensive but delivered with great humour, making it engaging and easy to remember. You could really feel how passionate both Brandon and Bradley are about the reef and marine life, and that enthusiasm carried through the whole day. The snorkelling itself was simply breathtaking. The reef and reef wall were the best coral we’ve seen anywhere in the world – vibrant, healthy and teeming with life. We saw huge schools of fish, inquisitive turtles, and even a black reef tip shark, which was an absolute highlight. We also stopped at a coral cay, where Brandon again shared brilliant information – including how to protect ourselves and how to avoid standing on rays. While wading in the shallows we were lucky enough to see a small black reef shark swimming right next to us, which was unforgettable. All in all, this trip exceeded every expectation. We would 100% recommend Ocean Safaris, and if we could have booked more trips, we absolutely would have. I strongly suspect we’ll be back!

5.00Out of three boat trips on this holiday, this was by far the best. If you want to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef, come to cape tribulation. The coral here is gorgeous and the boat crew were knowledgeable, really seem like they love the reef and wanted us to have a good time. Saw turtles, clownfish, puffer fish, giant clams. The trip felt well planned and we felt taken care of but not babied. Would go again if I could.

5.00This was an exceptional experience only made better by Brandon our skipper and Kiana our guide. They were both so passionate and informative about their work. They also made sure we had an outstanding time. My wife and I were convinced by the wonderful Sofia at the reception desk that today was the day to go; she was so right. We had the 4 hour tour. We started with getting our stinger suits and a briefing at the office, then walked over to the beach to get onto the boat. The tour had only 20 or so people on the tour which made for a great size. Not too many people at all. Because everyone were capable swimmers, we were able to see so much of the reef. Saw about 5 green sea turtles plus so much sea life. I would do it again tomorrow. Thanks again all.

5.00I’ve done several tours with Ocean Safari in the past, but this was by far the best one yet thanks to Keyana and Liam. We saw turtles, reef sharks, rays, lots of beautiful fish, and some very healthy coral. Keyana went out of her way to find turtles for me as we hadn’t seen one on the previous tour, and she found two. The service in the shop was friendly as always, and everything was really well organised and communicated from start to finish. Thanks guys
