As a family in Ardèche discovering the wines of the region, our attention was focused on the Château de la Sèlve. We booked a picnic in the vineyards and a tasting workshop. The picnic is perfect in every way. The price seems fair, and affordable considering the excellent quality ingredients (this little goat cheese...). The setting, a small wood in the middle of the vineyards, allowed us to have a good time. It is a shame that a glass bottle was exploded on the ground (dangerous for children), but the employees of the estate have nothing to do with the stupidity and lack of good manners of certain tourists. The tasting enhanced our experience. The young man in charge of the workshop was exciting, passionate and extremely informative. He masters perfectly the delicate balance between directing clients without disclosing and spoiling the answers. He was able to answer each of our questions with precision and education. The exercise was all the more difficult as it was often interrupted (to our great dismay) by our two children aged 2 and 4. With Olympian calm, he brought the workshop to its end, although with a duration much longer than what was indicated (and we thank him again!). All in all, these two experiences remain in our hearts among the best memories we have of the discovery of this beautiful territory that is Ardèche, and we will return there with great pleasure.
