What To Expect

Ancient Theatre of Ohrid

Ancient Theater in Ohrid is located at the foot of the eastern slope of the higher Ohrid hill, under Samuel’s Fortress. It is near one of the main entrances to the fortified city – the Upper Gate, from where one may capture and enjoy in the unforgettable breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountains.

Their dramatic expressiveness was the basis of the new trend in Byzantine art from this epoch, called “The Renaissance of the Paleologues”, which was the last chapter of the Byzantine art.
