What To Expect
【Sample Tour Schedule – On the Day of the Tour】 ① 9:00 – Pick-up at Uehara Port or your accommodation (Uehara area only) ↓ ② 9:20 – Arrive at the field! ↓ ③ 9:30 – Start of the first activity! ↓ ④ 11:00 – First activity ends ↓ ⑤ 11:30 – Break time. Let’s rest before the next activity. ↓ ⑥ 13:00 – Break ends. Depart for the next field. ↓ ⑦ 13:30 – Arrive at the second field ↓ ⑧ 13:45 – Start of the second activity ↓ ⑨ 14:45 – Second activity ends ↓ ⑩ 15:15 – Drop-off at Uehara Port or your accommodation ※ The schedule may vary depending on weather, tide conditions, number of participants, and the season. Important Information for Tour Participants Please read carefully to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. Punctuality & Advance Notice Please arrive on time. If you are late or absent without prior notice, it may be considered a cancellation and a cancellation fee may apply. If you are going to be late, please contact us in advance. Final Confirmation We will contact you by the day before the tour with details such as meeting location and time via your registered phone number or email. Please register contact information that can be reached within Japan. If you do not receive any communication by 6:00 PM the day before, please contact “IRIOMOTE ADVENTURE PiPi” using the method listed on your ticket. Pick-up from Hotels on Iriomote Island If you request hotel pick-up, the meeting time may differ from the standard time. To confirm the correct meeting time, please contact us the day before using the method on your ticket. Participation Requirements SUP: Ages 12–59 Canoeing: Ages 6–59 Pregnant individuals, children under 6, and those with pre-existing medical conditions may not participate. If you have any concerns, please consult with us in advance. For Those Who Are Anxious If you are worried about physical fitness or have fears about the sea or rivers, please feel free to contact us before booking. Equipment & Safety For water-based activities, wearing a life jacket and helmet is mandatory. If you do not cooperate with wearing the required safety gear, you will not be allowed to participate. Please follow the guide’s instructions at all times for your safety. Weather Conditions The tour will proceed even in rainy weather. However, if the field is deemed unsafe, the tour may be canceled. Clothing & Preparation Please wear clothing that can get wet. There are no toilets at the tour site, so please use the restroom beforehand. Participation under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Shower Facilities Shower facilities are available at our office. Please bring a change of clothes and a towel. Note: You may be denied boarding the ferry if you are still in wet clothing. Languages Tours are conducted in Japanese or English. Please note that depending on the reservation situation, the tour may be guided in Japanese only.

5.00Morning Canyoning with Kengo We kicked off the morning with an adrenaline rush! Kengo was our guide for the canyoning portion, and he was fantastic. His energy is infectious, and he did a great job of making sure everyone felt safe while still pushing us to have the most fun possible. Jumping into the crystal-clear pools and navigating the falls was the perfect way to wake up. Kengo’s enthusiasm really made the morning special. Afternoon Mangrove Canoe with Jun After a high-energy morning, the afternoon canoe trip through the mangroves was a wonderful change of pace. Jun was our guide for this session, and he was incredibly knowledgeable. He taught us so much about the unique environment of Iriomote and helped us spot local wildlife tucked away in the trees. Jun has a very calm, patient teaching style that made paddling through the mangroves feel peaceful and rewarding.

5.00I did the full day tour consisting of Mangrove SUP in the morning and Splash Canyoning in the afternoon. I joined the tour as a solo traveller but there were other tourists in the group as well. Our guide was Kengo. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about the island. I didn’t have much experience with SUP and it was only my second day with SUP but luckily the mangrove waters were calm and Kengo also provided very practical and useful tips to paddle the SUP. After the morning tour, Kengo dropped me off at Uehara Port and brought the rest of the tourists to the office since I was the only one from the morning tour who would continue with the canyoning tour in the afternoon. Before dropping me off at the port, Kengo was really thoughtful, and drove all of us around near Port Uehara, suggesting various restaurants in the area that I can have for lunch. I ended up having Yaeyama soba at Tamago which was just a few minutes walk from Uehara Port. After lunch, Kengo picked me up at Uehara Port and there were other tourists who I didn’t meet before, who also joined the second half of the tour. There was a family with three children and another solo traveller like myself. I think we all had a great time, especially the kids, and that is all thanks to Kengo’s upbeat and encouraging attitude. Before each jump, Kengo will properly demonstrate how to to safely jump. I slipped one time on my own but thanks to Kengo’s instruction as well as Richard’s explanation (fellow solo traveller), I was able to complete all of the jumps in the canyoning tour. I had a blast and it was an exhilarating experience for me. Jumping in the waters sort of makes you feel like a kid again. Kengo took many great photos and videos that I can look back at with fond memories. Thanks also to Richard for providing a bonus video from a different angle of my jump. Kengo is a fantastic guide and leader and everyone else on the tour were also great. You can do SUP tours on other islands in Okinawa as well but I felt that the canyoning tour in Iriomote was unique.
