Important Information for Tour Participants Please read to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience. Punctuality & Notice Arrive on time. Late or no-shows may be canceled with fees. If late, contact us. Final Confirmation We’ll contact you the day before via phone or email (reachable in Japan). If you don’t hear from us by 6:00 PM, contact IRIOMOTE ADVENTURE PiPi using your ticket. Hotel Pick-up Pick-up times may vary. Confirm the time the day before. Participation Requirements SUP: Ages 12–59 Canoe: Ages 3–65 Not for pregnant guests, kids under 3, or those with health issues. Contact us if unsure. If You’re Anxious Worried about fitness or water? Contact us in advance. Safety & Equipment Life jackets required. No participation without safety gear. Follow your guide’s instructions. Weather Tours run in light rain but may be canceled if unsafe. Clothing & Preparation Wear clothes that can get wet. No toilets—please go beforehand. No alcohol before or during the tour. Shower Facilities Showers available at the office. Bring a towel and dry clothes. Wet clothes may prevent ferry boarding. Languages Tours are in Japanese or English. May be Japanese-only depending on the day.

5.00It was my first canoe tour of mangroves. The weather was nice, and it felt great to paddle a canoe through the magnificent mangroves under the blue sky. Also, since it was almost high tide, it was a very valuable experience and exciting to be able to enter a narrow passage that could not be reached at low tide. When I came to Iriomote Island next time, I wanted to participate again.

5.00The 2 hour mangrove canoe tour was very good, we went quite deep amongst the mangroves and the guide gave explanations of the different varieties of tree and the creatures living by the river (in Japanese and English, though the detail in the English explanations likely depends on which guide you get). Life jackets etc. all provided as well as changing rooms and warm showers. Canoes are all 2-person so going as a couple or group divisible by 2 is recommended. Suitable for beginners, but might be tiring if it's windy. Note: we originally planned to do the longer tour that goes to a waterfall, but it was cancelled due to strong winds, so check the weather when booking and be aware the tour may have to change.

5.00I was a little worried about it because it was my first canoe, but the guide showed me carefully and I was able to get used to it. The view going through the mangroves was truly extraordinary, an experience that can only be experienced on Iriomote Island. We were also taken to places like mangrove tunnels, which our guide recommended, and took lots of photos. It is an activity that even beginners can enjoy with confidence, so if you come to Iriomote Island, I highly recommend it.
The knowledge of Iriomote Island and canoeing are very satisfying. I found the best guides.

2.00Very disappointed. Iriomote Island is beautiful, the mangrove incredible and really worth exploring. What is sold as half a day of kayaking activity, then finally 2 hours, is only 50 minutes max on the water with mostly pictures taken by the guide. Maybe this is what some tourists are looking for, something to post on Instagram and not a real experience. Too bad..

5.00I made a reservation in the morning and joined the morning mangrove canoe tour The weather was good and I could feel the great nature It was harder than I thought to row the canoe because I was a solo participant, but the guide, Mr. Oku, and other participants helped me, and it was a fun experience. I want to visit Iriomote again
