Lots of good food and history along the way. We got to try places we wouldn’t have known about otherwise and food was delicious. Our guide Joel made it interesting and fun. A decent walk through the beautiful streets of Old San Juan.

If you’re visiting San Juan and only have time for one activity, make it this tour. Our guide William set the tone from the very first stop, warm, funny, and genuinely excited to share his city with us. He didn’t just point us toward food; he told us the stories behind it, which made every bite feel like it meant something. The spots were well-curated and felt like real local favorites, not tourist traps dressed up as hidden gems. Everything was delicious, but honestly William was the highlight. You could tell he actually loves what he does, and that energy is contagious. Highly recommend, especially if you’re new to San Juan and want to get your bearings through food rather than a map.

We had an amazing experience on the Secrets Food Tours San Juan, and a huge part of that was thanks to William! From the very beginning, he created such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for everyone in the group. His energy was friendly, engaging, and genuine—it felt like exploring the city with someone who truly loves what they do. What really stood out was how seamlessly William blended history with the food experience. He didn’t just take us from place to place—he brought Old San Juan to life with stories, cultural insights, and context that made each stop even more meaningful. Every question we had was answered thoughtfully, and you could tell he was incredibly knowledgeable. The pacing of the tour was perfect, the food selections were delicious and authentic, and William made sure everyone felt included and taken care of throughout. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or have been to Puerto Rico before, this tour is a must—and if you get William as your guide, you’re in for something special. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed this tour immensely. Nelimar (our guide) was patient, clear and informative, as well as friendly and entertaining. I”m elderly and was concerned about the walking. But it turned out to be a very manageable distance. The food and drink was delicious and the people were welcoming. All in all a great experience.
